kaepernick has had a pretty rough season but I am pretty pleased by the way he has bounced back.

That pass to Patton for a TD wasn't as pretty as a couple of those dimes he dropped on Boldin, Smith, and Miller but the way he worked the pocket and sidestepped the pressure, acted like he was going to run, then bounced back into the pocket sidestepping the pressure again and then finding Patton wide open in the endzone made me shed tears of joy...

I had no clue what Kap was doing on that play or if all that movement in the pocket was even necessary. I'm just happy with the result. I'm a results guy.

The pass to Boldin was crazy. The one where he threw the ball while rolling to his left and hit Boldin in stride. Crazy seeing him drop in these passes when a couple of weeks ago he was way off traget on seemingly routine passes out of the pocket.

You know, i went back and watched i and have to kind of agree with you. He did seem to attempt to escape pressure that wasn't there... still liked it overall though.

He had another a similar ACCURATELY thrown pass the week before, again to Boldin. He hit the hardest routes to hit?!

In the Giants game, I felt that one of Kap's best passes was one that fell incomplete. He was rolling right and while on the move, he threw a ball to Boldin in the end zone. Kap put it right where it had to be to give Boldin a chance, but because Kap had to throw it high and hard to prevent an interception (the DB had very close coverage on Boldin), Boldin just couldn't come up with the catch on that play.

I'm done with that excuse. Colin had no urgency in the huddle at any time tonight, not once did he have those guys in the hurry up. Colin's indecisiveness on the 3rd down throw that led to the field goal, the delay of game, the play action fake that was ran to the wrong side are bush league. He (Colin) needs to sit and re-evaluate what he wants to do in life, he had no fire at all, he looked like a deer in the headlights from the opening kickoff

He played scared with no heart more than likely content that he didn't throw an INT versus this defense-For him, that was probably a win

It really doesn't matter. I doubt Kap is here next season and Gabbert won't be the starter. Who cares who starts at this point.

Colin's been on the decline since his failed attempt to win the Superbowl and that's just truth. He couldn't punch in for the Superbowl win, came back a year later and melted down with 2 4th Quarter INT's versus Seattle in the NFC Title game, had a roller coaster season last year and now this season and we're still talking about some of the same issues his 5th season in that we were questioning at the end of the Superbowl. He's about to hit his Alex Smith limit for me, I worried about his mental to win big games and lead after the Superbowl and it's only trended south, and his mechanics, that's a whole nother issue. If the Line is struggling and he can't get the ball out and make the reads, I want to see Gabbert. There is too much talent at WR for these guys to be depending on scramble drills in order to make plays.

Say your tearful goodbye's to Kaepernick. He's gone next year for sure.

I predict that he gets picked up by another team next year. He'll be a backup for at most 2 years, before he's finally cut and out of the NFL for good.

Kap is fine, just need to build around him. He proved it the last 2 games before seattle. I agree he is scared of seattle. This Oline and OC is so bad its not even funny.

Another reason the OC needs to go. Giants game Ellington catches 2 balls right away for 39 yards and then we don't see him for the rest of the game. This week: Miller only played 20% of the snaps. Last 2 weeks where the offense has been rolling he play 40% or more.

This shows that the OC has no clue what he is doing and should be fired on the spot. He doesn't know how to set this team right to win. We are at a disadvantage when a game starts because of our DC and OC.

When Kaep has a good game, it's because he's a good quarterback.

When Kaep doesn't have a good game, it's because of the OC.

I mentioned this earlier this season but I'm not sure if it's just purguy (and a lot of fans I see/talk to in real life) but Kap having two good games creates this false "he has potential" narrative that prevents people from understanding just how not good he is at quarterback. Both games he played well in were against horrible defenses. Any time he faces a decent/good defense he crumbles under the pressure.

AND YES I GET IT THE OLINE IS BAD but some of those throws are inexcusable as an NFL QB.

The standard should be to do well against all teams. Yes, any QB will struggle against a top 5 defense, but our standard on Kap shouldn't be how he plays against a crappy Giants pass D or a depleted Ravens team, it should be his work as a whole. And looking at it that way, he's terrible. Kap is good enough to beat bad teams on a good day, but is that a good thing? I don't think so. And I realize how hard it is to field a good QB in this league (it's kind of boggling that out of every human to ever play football there isn't 32 (or even 20?) people that can play this position well)), but watching Kap is very tough. Blaming the Oline and coaches is only half (and I argue less than half) or the problem.

We've seen Kap. We liked him when he was effective. But he is no longer worth it. Should they get rid of him at the end of the year? Yes. Do they have to? I doubt it with all the cap space they have they can just keep him and play him and hope he wins a few games with his legs (but no one wants him to run, including himself). We won't be good for a while, so I don't think it makes a difference who is at QB unless they draft someone in the 1st or 2nd round coming up. Even then, I wouldn't want any "qb of the future" to play with this horrible offense. They would be ruined a la Alex Smith.

Kap sucks, and two good games sandwiched in between a horrible season isn't really all that good. I hope management isn't thinking how purguy is thinking, because how long do they wait before realizing he's not the future? Do they keep thinking like purguy and blame literally everyone BUT Kap and keep him around and keep saying "aw he had those two good games!" or just cut ties? I'd say I know 100 they would cut ties with him b/c of how much it's gonna cost but again, so much room so what does it matter? We all know they don't care about embarrassing management moves, so they won't crumble to fan or media pressure w/r/t Kap.

Sorry but i disagree, it isn't surprising he fell back into his "deer in headlight" mode. Yes, Kaep can have good games too, but his inconsistency is too extreme.

The O-line does have its issues, but you're relying on this excuse too much. Russell Wilson has the worse O-line in the NFL, could you tell their offense was horrible?

The O.C. does make a difference, but again you're relying on this excuse too much.
