many people disagree with you. He often flees the pocket and misses seeing wide open receivers. I've seen it myself and trust Cosell who watches tons of film.
Fair enough; I'm no expert but you cannot argue with his results. But there are so many positives to Wilson's game; can you think of even one positive for Kaepernick? In what manner does he help this team?

Why would he get pummeled? That makes no sense. If he is managing the game properly, he is getting the ball out and making the right decisions and the right throws. Now if he sits there with the deer in the headlights look like Kaepernick does then, yes, he'll get pummeled.
I think you and I differ on the definition of a "game maager". It seems you see that as a negative and a sign of mediocrity. I see it as a smart player who manages the offense effectively.

Even if a QB can get a ball out quickly, when there isn't a downfield threat, teams tighten up and play close to the LOS like Seattle did against Denver in the Super Bowl. And when pass rushers are constantly going through the right side of the line untouched, your QB is going to be constantly pressured and hit.

I am not directly comparing the two. Kap is seriously messed up right now. But looking at this team as it is today, I don't see any available QB fixing it, with the oline playing as it is. If we somehow got Rodgers, Brady, or one of the elites over today they would do more with what we have, but the issues are still here. This oline needs to be fixed. I certainly don' want to draft a QB in the first round and stick him back there having to consistently dodge unblocked defenders baring down on him and end up like alex smith with a bad shoulder injury

AFter watching what the two players do behind pourous offensive lines can you possibly even compare them?
Yeah both aren't great. D wins another game for seattle just like the last 2-3 years. nothing new. I agree Wilson is better but its not a big upgrade.

Then that QB is not a "game manager". Effective game managers find ways to defeat that rush. Work to the left, for example, run the ball; change out of plays at the line when you see what the defense is doing. He needs a good play caller, I agree, but the "game manager" finds ways to get the job done and doesn't lose the game for you like Kaepernick does.

OK, but since that is not going to happen any time soon, what do we do? Do we continue to keep a guy at the game's most important position that is killing the team?

Wilson cost his team the game last night before the 12th man stepped in to save them once again. Crazy that you can be an official at the highest level and not know the rules. That or he did know and was secretly a seachicken fan.

Running the ball when he actually runs. I think he needs to run more in my opinion.

Overall I don't think it matters until we fix the Oline. Im on board to fixing the Oline and getting a new QB but then we are in full rebuild mode. Im ok with that to. I just hate when we have 1 foot in. Either rebuild or retool. I think we are closer to rebuild part.

Yes, A QB can beat a rush to a point and help with some bad oline play. But when the oline plays as horribly as ours does, it is too much to ask of almost any QB. And for all this talk about Seattle and their oline, they still were aa couple of inches away and a missed call from being tied with us in the cellar despite having that D

That's true but at least the Seahawks are competitve and have a chance to win the games at the end. But also keep in mind, they are a muffed 4th down play and a lucky GB play from being 4 and oh. They've had the lead in the 4th quarter of every game they've played this year.

For me, losing is losing. You get a crappy record and miss the playoffs there is no brownie points for that. I didn't even give Detroit a chance to win that game last night

I disagree. You get points from me for being competitive and entertaining and having a chance to win the games. But watching something so ineffective and unimaginative as the 49er offense is deplorable. Its unwatchable and frankly inexcusable.

Step 1 is change up the Line. Step 2 if that doesn't work go with your back up QB. If neither work try and get a top 5 pick.

Do the Colts bench Luck who has a lower QB rating then Kap? He is killing his team a lot more then Kap who the Colts were suppose to be a super bowl team this year.

I think the right thing to do is for the 49ers is to change up the line and then if its still bad u bench Kap. Next year u then cut Kap because his contract is no guaranteed. No cap hit for 49ers. And you start full rebuild mode.

The NFL is claiming that the Back Judge did know the rules and in his judgement it was not an overt act by the Seattle player batting the ball out of bounds. I find that to be unbelievable. there's no way he could look right at like that play like h was and not see that the player made no effort o collect the ball and just batted it out of bounds.

I agree with you. The best after the game the player came right out and said he did want to hit the ball out. Made that ref look really bad.

Seattle gets lucky a lot on plays like that and they all go their way.

Some positive news Kap is still a good team player and locker room guy. This story about Tannehill is funny as hell.
"Enjoy your practice squad paycheck, enjoy your practice squad trophy," Tannehill said, according to Wilson.

It's sad because Kap's always been a good team guy and he wants to be a Niner for life, but this is a business, and he's not getting it done. My expectations are very low, but I'll keep pulling for him like I pulled for Alex Smith when he was here. Maybe some miracle will happen and he'll be a good QB again, but it's highly likely he's gone after this season.

I agree but the good news on the business side we are not locked into him. We can cut him after this year with no Cap hit. Next year is a non guaranteed contract.

I visit a number of 49er related blogs and boards and very few people are giving Kap a free pass anymore. There are more people strongly opposed to him these days than strongly supportive of him. I've read alot of criticism of Roman and have my own criticisms of him, but never heard that one before. Rodgers is really good at sidestepping pressure. And while the 49ers got some pressure on Rodgers, he also had all day to throw on many occasions. I thought some of the other ones were coverage type pressure/sacks. There were times Rodgers couldn't find anything down field and finally had to get rid of the ball or took a sack, but there wasn't instant pressure.

The sad part is when Kaepernick first came onto the scene, everybody basically played Cover 0 against him....daring him to beat them. Play Cover 0 against a Rodgers or a Brady is asking for death. When teams started running more zone against us is when CK started going into the crapper.

Looking at some of the film from Sunday, GB's defense didn't play Cover 0 straight up, but they did give Kaep everything outside of the hash marks, where he is just horrible. Lots of defenders taking away stuff like seams, which really ended up destroying the running game as well.
