Oh my! But he was so adamant about being an Isle last year, right?

I just heard about this. They acquired him from the Ducks for a 2013 2nd round pick on draft day. This asshole challenged the contract he signed because he didn't want to come in the first place & now he pulls this crap. Stay in Slovakia you whiny piece of shit. I hope you rot in hell.

So I'm assuming the Czech league doesn't honor the agreement that the KHL and NHL have where if a player is under contract in one league, he can't sign in the other till the said contract is finished...

Don't get it. Sorry Bolts, that is a shitty deal. :tsk:

The team he's been playing for is part of the KHL I believe. At this point it really doesn't matter I guess.

Hmmm... Maybe this won't be allowed then. I remember reading the two league's have an agreement on this type of thing. Maybe Luby is counting on the Isles not pursuing it?

I think he will be back
NHL will pressure him to return.
I dont know the rules with the current or even past CBA but we were talking at work and one guy thiught that Vis knows his next deal will be crap and thinks if he doesnt return this year but shows up next year that he would be paid his current deal. Meaning instead of half for half a season he would get the whole amount next year
Clever if true

That's been talked about a bit on the Isles fansite. I think there's a lot of truth to it.

I'm sure that is what the Isles braintrust is thinking - Vis has a low payable salary and a high cap hit - a win win for a club looking to pick up some salary to possibly reach the floor next season.

Lubomir Visnovsky say he won't report to Isles, but NHL takes exception

A few things. First, NOT allowed with current deal between NHL/KHL. Second, his agent spurts BS "it'd be the same with any NHL team." Come on man, don't give us that. If he played for the Kings he'd be back. Heck, if he still played for the Ducks he'd be back probably. He wasn't happy from the start, and it's exceedingly immature of him.

If he's going to act like this, perhaps the Isles don't want him to come back...

At this point I don't want him to play for the Islanders. Rolston was a dog last year after the Islanders acquired him from New Jersey. Visnovsky would probably play the same. Players like them have absolutely no idea how lucky they are. It's sad.

From what I understand the Isles bought Visnovsky a plane ticket to L.I.. However, Visnovsky didn't get the memo because he apparently wasn't on the plane. The NHL & KHL are going to end up settling this.

@dchesnokov
Citing the MOU with the NHL, the KHL did not allow Lubomir Visnovsky to sign with Slovan until the end of the season. the KHL says they will meet with NHL reps to figure out a solution, but for now he cannot play in the KHL
