Is this the year that KU goes down?

Alright, so I felt it was best until I waited for Texas to play a real opponent. They got their shit together against Iowa in the second half and won convincingly.

They are the team I had in mind but even before the UK debacle I thought this could finally be the year KU doesn't win the BIG12. I know, people have been saying this pretty much every year and yet they still win it.

Well, what do you guys think? Is KU's reign over? Who will overtake them? ISU is real solid as well.

I'm saying yes and that Texas takes the crown.

I've given up on betting against Self in the Big12. As far as I'm concerned KU is the favorite until they're mathematically eliminated and even them I'm not positive that Self can't find a way to clinch.

I know that is the easiest answer and to this point the only one that has ever been right. But this is the first year I have hopped on the KU take down wagon.

I just think Texas is deeper and stronger down low. ISU is good too but until Hoiberg can consistently get the magic to travel on the road with them, I don't but them over KU.

I had KU pegged for 2nd place the last 3 years I think. (maybe even 4) Consider me a convert. KU doesn't get it done this time now that I'm bored, so be it. But this conversation has happened in the early part of the season the last few years, and yet KU still won. I'm at least going to see how the first 1/4th of the conference schedule unfolds before I start changing my tune.

K-State did get a share of the title two years ago and Iowa State won the Big 12 Tourney last year (not quite the same, I know, and KU was Embiid-less)

I'll go on record by saying that KU can be dethroned. Texas last won it in 2008 and they look capable.

Texas shared it with KU in 06 and 08. KU hasn't not won at least a share of the BIG12 crown since 2004.

It's been a decade and I am saying this year the streak is snapped!!

I voted yes, they go down this year.

However, I'm thinking I'll really believe it when I see it...Have watched this league too many years to think otherwise. But I have a feeling someone else takes that crown this year, and it may not be Texas that does it.

The Big12 is a tough basketball conference, any one of several teams could end up doing it.
