Washington split the championship w/Miami in '91 but they finally met up with the Hurricanes in Miami in '94.

Behold!

UW played Nebraska that season and the following one. Both games were beatdowns.

Now that you mention it, 1991 Nebraska may have been better than I recall. Two losses... BUT they are both to teams that claimed the national title that year.

A ranked Cal scored a late TD to make the final score 24 - 17 @ Cal and that game wasn't nearly as close as the score shows.
Cal finished (10-2) and ranked #7 after beating Clemson in the Citrus Bowl 37-13. That was a really, really good Cal team.

Whammy in Miami, that's a cute name.

How about Game of the Century, that name sounds a whole lot better. @outofyourmind, you agree?

psst, I know your team lost, but you're still part of history.

I watched that Citrus Bowl and afterwards they interviewed a Cal player and he said Clemson might have had a chance if they could learn the forward pass. The Tigers ran that old ass option then similar to OU, NU, Bama and Texas. PAC teams were running the pro set long before that and they'd work those eastern teams most of the time.

This man was 2 - 0 vs Tom Osborne and 1 - 0 vs Barry Switzer (Orange Bowl).

I know, I know lol. BELIEVE ME I KNOW. You remind me at least 20 times a year lol.

But everyone still says Nebraska is the greatest team of all time.

2005 Longhorns: Best player in cfb history: VY. All FIVE DBs were starting in the nfl in the next couple of years. OLine was monster. JAMAAL Charles. Even Selvin Young started for the Broncos for half a season. Two destroyer DEs. The only corps that was mediocre were the LBs, and really, they weren’t that bad at all.

You know your team isn't in the discussion when you have to talk about... what the players did independently of that TEAM.

Well the team won the natty and beat the team that all of media made hour long shows on tv about how they were the greatest team of all time. So I started with that common knowledge, and added to it. Dunce.

A team that won't be mentioned due to their one loss that season is the 2000 Oregon St. Beavers coached by Dennis Erickson. UW was the lone team to beat them that year due to a last minute FG @ Husky stadium but that Oregon St. team was devastating.

he left off the part about Vince “full qualifier” Young getting fired by the UT athletic department for being too stupid to be an ex jock in a cushy athletic department job.

But subtracted from the conversation so...

But I do agree that the media was dragging USC out way too much. Notice that no one is talking about them anymore either.

Oh. I notice that. The REAL greatest team of all time shit them up.
And yes, ESPN ACTUALLY had an entire multi-segment series on how USC was the greatest team of all time and putting them up against teams of the past.

The LSU fans are going to need to show up and help me out.

I was leaving it up to them to fill in the blanks, I wasn't keeping up.

All I know is that they looked better than Nebraska and I saw both.
I was 3 during ‘95 Nebraska so I have no opinion on them. I think time period plays into it, what people define as ‘the best’ plays into it.

Is ‘the best’ the most talent that is sent to the league? Is the best, the way a team dominated competition? Is the best, the team that played the most difficult schedule?

I think you get 3 different answers when basing it off those 3 questions. I will say, in my honest objective opinion I do believe LSU this season is the best team in modern day college football.

1. What the fuck is "shit them up"? lol

2. Considering that the Greatest Team of All Time didn't play USC, they couldn't have "shit them up" whether thats good or bad.

3. Yeah I know. Nebraska won that too, thanks for mentioning. Herbie was acting like a little bitch though...

They also did this for Oklahoma in ‘03. There is a station that literally has 24 hours of air time to kill. If they could somehow find a way to work in everyone’s favorite ice cream to kill time they would.
