Simple answer? They didn't match up well with the Nuggets. That may still be true this year. Also, Darvin Ham,

Had they played a different opponent that round (any of them really), they would've had a better chance of moving on.
I think they will give OKC all they can handle. A lot of people thought OKC would sweep Dallas last season

They've given the Thunder some trouble with AD previously. Remains to be seen how the roster changes will affect that.

I really feel sorry for the Dallas Mavericks now - I know they really screwed themselves badly - Now they have a broken down 31 year old that won't likely be relevant this year - and Davis will be getting old like @trojanfan12 and me - And the fans are even more pissed than we were when Taco Bell eliminated the Apple Empanada - lol

Just because they made it last season doesn't automatically mean they were returning to the Finals. The way things were going they weren't.
The Dallas were not going to be relevant this year and would have been beat in the first round - IF they even made the playoffs - Now they are stuck with a 31 year old injury prone power forward and three injured players - I think God hates the Mavericks - lol

Christie is averaging 17ppg, 5.2rpg, 3.2apg and 1spg since the trade....all while shooting 51%, 55%, and 83%.

LOL at him being a thrown in. He's breaking out with the Mavs.

Sorry but he absolutely was a throw in. One of the better players that could have been used as one but that’s what he was.

Yeah, I lean throw in too. The Mavs may have requested him because he had improved enough to become a starter...but the whole point of the trade was to get AD...Christies play just makes the trade look a little better.

Not a true throw in, as he was indeed requested. Rob would've thrown them other salary if he could've kept Christie.

Bullcrap. They were underdogs in every round last year and won three rounds. Superstars matter in the postseason

Could happen in a play in.

Not very likely anywhere else.
Anthony Davis out for another three weeks/
Gafford - out for 6 weeks
Thompson, Washington , Powell and Irving out as of right now - I will assume - small stuff for these - but I was thinking that Dallas is more like the Titanic - than a rising star - I feel really bad for Davis though - but It would be a miracle for him to play 82 games and I think he was overdue for an injury -

I think he may have guilted himself into coming back too quickly after the trade (and pushed it hard during that return game to boot).

One of the problems we have getting older - We think because we are 65 years old, that we can still do what we were doing when we were 35 -

Hell no lol. I'm at least in a positive direction, as I bottomed out a few years back in terms of fitness.

It is a bit funny that you used 35 as the young age in your post about AD, who's almost 32.

Honestly - I was in really good shape at 35 and had not started to decline in the terms of body strength- Davis has always been injury prone and that is a shame though
