I mean, he's not entirely wrong as there are too many here who base their comments on poster and not post. And, sure, some who can never see the other side in a discussion.

I do say this as while not a newbie still might be one of the newer posters here.....does seem like the newbies who have come since me are on tc's level (buckalice comes to mind, too) of not capable of an actual discussion of listening to what someone with a different viewpoint has to say.

Interestingly, you came to mind when I typed this as far as newbs being unfairly treated. I know you caught a decent amount of flack. Some from me.

We had many back and forths and differences of opinion, even occasionally crossing lines on both sides.

But you always made effort to keep dialog respectful.

Not this dude.

The buckalis types never last. Right now he is buckalis. You were nothing like that.

Maybe he can adapt. I won’t bet on it.

He(presumably) seems like he could add some value to the discussion but he gets caught up so much being a dick that it really makes it difficult to have adult conversations.

I disagree @msgkings322 that he is some spectrumy person. I think he's just a kid(late teen/early 20s) who thinks he's smarter than everyone else and doesn't understand how to engage with people as an adult.
Also possible but his manner is very spectrumish. He seems to have ghosted anyway

Calling someone a stalker is one of the weakest tools in the troll bag. It’s a lame deflection when you run out of answers to someone literally just conversing with you on a message board, which is literally what we all do here.
For sure.....it's almost as bad as saying a guy cannot stop commenting on a topic by someone who cannot stop commenting.

I kid....I kid. Sort of.

Fair points and don't get me wrong...I get a fan of the Mavs not liking this deal due to their attachment to Luka. But FOs cannot care what emotional fans think when making deals. Not to say this was a good one for them but it's better they don't care in general.

I disagree. Fans matter to FOs. Because ownership cares what the fans think. If ownership didn't care about that, they wouldn't have felt a need to be so cloak and dagger about this deal.

That doesn't mean that every decision needs to be fan approved. But Nico Harrison is going to be the scapegoat if the Lakers do well and the Mavs struggle over the next couple of seasons. If Luka goes on to win an MVP in a year or two and AD keeps playing more or less the same way(dominant at time, kinda invisible due to injuries or whatever at times) then Harrison is going to be the one to fall on his sword.

It's possible. His debate style, however, strikes me as someone who looks at stats a lot but doesn't really have a lot of real world experience watching the game. I could be wrong though.

Other difference is while what you say is true I did listen to what you had to say and could have my mind changed (and vice versa I believe).

I guess at least his comments on THIS topic do have merit (and I agree with some). That CFB discussion was just off the wall and your last comments might be true.

we can agree to disagree on this one. At least when it comes to trades (and FA moves and draft). I mean, most of the big deals that get made in the NBA are ones no one saw coming. Right or wrong, sports teams think they are the CIA when it comes to trade and draft intel.

Absolutely, the risk is real and he’s taking the fall if it doesn’t work

That doesn’t obviate my point. He could be an autist who doesn’t watch the games. The humorlessness is a sign also.

Honestly?

Decent chance he takes the fall even if it does.

Dallas was gifted their franchise superstar when Sacto passed and ATL agreed to trade down.

Now they have a short window with AD and Kyrie.

Better hit it and hit if fast.

If they don’t make it to the top 5 this year he might be gone.

Rob will get a big man by the deadline I feel fairly sure. I think they are gonna fit fine though. Last night's starting lineup but with Luka at the point. Wait...I keep forgetting, @tc1 keeps telling me Luka isn't a PG LMAO
The game's pretty much positionless these days anyways. Back in the day of course players specialized. Now you got bigs who can dish a grip of dimes in any NBA game as well as hit triples, and point guards who can absolutely posterize 7 footers...

So point guard or point forward would actually fit imo...

I actually think the way the Luka/LeBron thing works to the point of contending this season is if LBJ changes his game to become more Karl Malone scoring PF instead of ball dominant point forward guy. I think he would actually see his scoring increase if he just looked for his shot and wouldn't get worn down from having to run the show

All true but defense really matters and AD was the anchor for that, unless they make another move I doubt they contend this year and even if they do, it will be a challenge. I'm pretty high on OKC though.

True.

But, Rob has to try and add some defense at C by Thursday or this season is nothing.

Probably find that C in the summer if Reaves doesn't also fit with Bron and Doncic, which I don't think he does. Bron and Doncic can if Bron plays off the ball but it's asking too much for it to work for all 3.
