True.

But, Rob has to try and add some defense at C by Thursday or this season is nothing.

Probably find that C in the summer if Reaves doesn't also fit with Bron and Doncic, which I don't think he does. Bron and Doncic can if Bron plays off the ball but it's asking too much for it to work for all 3.
How about a HR deal right after a grand slam deal?

Going to be a lot more hate for them Lakers now---23 year old center 16 ppg 9 rpg

Heist of the century?

I really like the trade, but Williams makes Davis look durable.

Lakers will continue to sprain their fingers while crossing them and hoping their center can play.

But cost a Rookie,2031 Draft Pick and so on for Mark Williams.

Chickenfeed

They got a 23 year old up and coming player who feels a position of need. That's basically a draft pick. Additionally, considering what they've put together and how young they are, the 2029 and 2031 firsts are likely to be well outside the lottery.

The Lakers are taking a risk - Williams has a history of injuries and has not played half the time or more - So they will need to get him involved in some conditioning on both players - That was a good trade for the Lakers who gave up practically nothing -

The equivalent of two first round picks ( Knecht and 2031 ) is not close to nothing -- it's actually quite a lot. Especially when Knecht should have been a high-lottery pick.

That's way more than Valanciunas cost the Kings, for example ( a raw prospect who was barely drafted and two seconds ). __That's__ practically nothing.

And now the Lakers have apparently added a 2030 pick swap to the Williams deal.

It isn't super likely, but if Doncic is not healthy 5 years from now, that 2030 swap and unprotected 2031 first could be quite valuable. They are lottery tickets, but that's why people play the lottery.

As time passes, this Williams trade looks worse. Valancunias was traded for almost literally nothing, and I think I would've preferred that deal.

Ugh, this Williams trade looks worse almost by the minute. Hornets got Nurkic __and a first__ for two very mediocre veterans and a second.

Not a huge Nurkic fan, but that's incredibly cheap compared to what the Lakers paid for Williams.

Nurk isn’t Mark Williams. Williams is only 23 and was playing some great basketball. He doesn’t to be any kind of defensive stopper but LA paid for age and potential. Nurk has either. He is slow and phoenix benched him for a reason

They paid more for him instead of Nurk and Jonas V bc those guys are old, washed up and slow. Those guys have little to no value

Yeah man, just because it's a great trade for the Lakers doesn't mean the other team did terribly (like the Mavs). The only thing I don't get is trading Richard's if you were going to trade Williams

Nurk and JoVal are done. Can’t move at all.

Williams has missed 60% of his career games entirely -- despite being a very young man. That does not bode well. Even a slow player is better than one in street clothes.

I hope Williams has a run of good health, but I'm not sure I would bet on that like the Lakers just did.

Nurkic posted 20/18 and 15/15 over the course of 3 days, just 3 months ago, on combined 11-16 shooting, and 4-6 from deep. When he has played 30+ minutes this year, he's averaging 15/12, with a TS% of 71%.

A lot of players would like to be "done", like that.

Valancunias is averaging a double-double whenever he plays over 20 minutes, with a TS% of 62%.

That's a lot of production, for cheap, even if they are not great defenders.

Oh, he can produce stats

He is big and skilled. Put him out there he will get numbers.

And cripple your team defense in the process

Mark Williams can move. His problem is effort. Good chance that changes in a good team. Often does for young bigs.
