i meant offensively (my fault for not saying that)

4-5 years of stellar defensive play doeasnt make one a HOFer

it needs to be sustained

It wasn't 4 or 5 years. It was his entire career. He and Griffey were both great CF'ers in the 90's. Griffey hit better and thus was awarded the GG's.

My favorite Edmonds catch...

Yeah, off my Reds. Jason Larue I think it was....who ended up becoming a Cardinal. Then Cueto kicked him in that fight and his career was over.

He had an 11 year stretch where he averaged .293 with a .942 OPS (141 OPS+) with 30 HR and 90+ runs a season. The list of CFers who put up a 140 OPS+ over a decade stretch is likely a very small one.

While I think his defense is overrated, his offense is a large reason why he should be in.

He's not a hall of famer. He's close, but not quite good enough.

Jim Edmonds is 15th all time in games played in CF. That's hard to do because it's such a grueling position. It's hard to keep the speed and range needed to play CF as you get into your 30's.

Think maybe he had "help?"

Squeaky clean the guy isn't close to being HOF material.

But he's dirty as hell.

In 10 yrs no one even remembers Jim Edmonds because there's not a lot to remember.

I saw some great catches in CF in STL. He hit pretty good in STL and dam good in Anaheim.

Game 6 2004 NLCS, bottom of the 13th inning - game over. Never heard Busch Stadium that loud ever. Game 7 2004 NLCS, what a fucking catch that was.

Hollywood should probably be in the HOF.
