Oh that would be priceless too but Oregon vs. Bama would be even better. Ohio State can't hang with Bama but Oregon could potentially beat the dogshit out of them. :2cents:

Oregon beat chance at beating Bama would be to catch them in NC game. I like the Ducks chancesuch more if we get Saban and CO. after semis. I don't want Bama with a month to prepare for Ducks.

No thanks.

I'm not sold on Oregon. I think they are good, but having lost to Arizona makes me think they are easily capable of losing a bad game to Ohio State. I know Oregon is healthy now, and things have changed, but IMO, I don't think Ohio State could be Bama, even on a bad day for Bama. Just my two cents.

Ohio State will need some help from other teams losing if they want to make it in. If Mississippi or Bama lose another and the SEC East wins the SECCG Ohio State fans are probably going to be really happy. Also, don't forget there are two Big 12 1 loss teams in the mix who have better resumes than OSU both in terms of quality wins and who they lost to. Ohio State is kind of roaming around in purgatory with Georgia. They have a chance but a lot of things need to fall into place for it to happen.

I don't think Georgia has any chance of making the playoffs. Losing your second game of the season to a team like Florida pretty much keeps them out of the discussion...even if they win the SEC title game (if they can make it).

I don't think we'll see a 2 loss team in the playoff this year.

Committee is made up of ppl from every conf. They don't hold the same conf reverences a random set of fans do.

And as for media driven arguments, the media has been down on big10 for a while. So no boost there.

It was an impressive win for Ohio State. The problem is that Ohio State fans think no one else has won a big game this season.

Sorry, you don't get a playoff spot. Try harder next year.

Quick question, What if 3 teams ahead of Ohio State lose and Ohio State wins out?

Do they get a playoff spot then?

So a decisive win over a top 11 team on the road isn't beating anybody?

But that top 11 team was worked over big time in Eugene. tOSU was whipped by VA Tech as well. Basically, both MSU and tOSU were worked over by teams outside their weak as hell conference. In conference, tOSU is running through it. Is it impressive to get spanked outside your conference, but run the table in your weak conference? I don't think so and the committee doesn't think so.

That's complicated, of course. Would have to look closely at remaining schedules.

Of the top 7 teams right now, Ohio State is only ranked above one other 1 loss team (Baylor), and has 4 other 1 loss teams ahead of them.

Ohio State needs 3 of the 4 "1 loss" teams ahead of them to lose another game for them to sneak in. I just don't see that happening. Ohio State really needed a stronger Michigan team to help bolster their schedule this year, but it looks like a Michigan win won't help them in the least bit this year.

" the committee values like opponent games. If sec east champ lost to Indiana and Ohio State wins big, this bodes well for ohio's playoff chance. Look for Buckeyes to keep foot to pedal."

Georgia needs a lot to happen to be in the discussion so you're probably right to write them off.

Except this time, Oregon would be playing for something besides pride. Just like Utah beating Alabama, and other type "Cinderella win" bowl games, I don't think bowls games, outside the BCS championship game, matter to most teams.

Don't get me wrong, I do think that OSU was better than Oregon in 2009, but IMO, I don't think you can compare the motivating factor that a playoff bowl game would bring to both teams. Especially when compared to a "win just gets a trophy" bowl game.

Must be why they keep moving Ohio State up.

They aren't the highest ranked two loss team, they got killed by 5-4 Florida team, and they aren't even in first in the SEC East. They just aren't good enough this year to deserve a spot, even if they win out (SEC champ included). Although they will probably be a force to reckon with next year, now that Chubb is showing himself to be a 2015 Heisman candidate.

Come on man.. did your mom have any kids who lived??? The article clearly said the committee is looking past the poor early losses by both Oregon and Ohio State due to injuries and is focusing on what they are doing now.

You said tOSU doesn't get a playoff spot. I was just curious if that was because you think tOSU is going to lose or if that was because you think all of those teams are going to win out? Or both?
