Mayfield is just what I thought he was, a career vet back up QB. Not worth much in terms of trade value or salary and no help to teams in need of a starting QB. It looks like the Panthers over paid for a bum again, but at least it was a little less expensive this time around.

Any good stock market analyst will tell you not to develop personal attachments to a stock. Mayfield is like one of those stocks. People keep doubling down on him and just fuck themselves over.

He's a NFL caliber backup / borderline starter. Calling him elite or stud or MVP-quality was the problem, artificially raising expectations. He could still conceivably raise his profile; don't forget that analysts had already given up on guys like Ryan Tannehill and Geno Smith.
Geno looks like he had a brain transplant from his days as a Jet.

77%, 259ypg, 7.9ypa, 6 TDs, just 2 picks and 108 PR. Won't last but he is playing like a completely different player.

To be fair- the Jets are as cursed a franchise as the Browns are. I legitimately feel bad for some of the talented college players who get drafted by the Jets, Browns, Jaguars, Commanders, etc., because I know that they'll be mired in a mediocre franchise for ~4 years before having a chance to succeed.

That was a week 1 comment fwiw

True, but hadn't you seen enough of him to come to the same conclusion i did in week 1?

They made a lot about winning that 1 playoff game, but half the nfl QB's could have taken that team to the superbowl lol

I hated it when he got traded to the Panthers and I hate having him as the starter. He makes them not fun to watch.

I've always felt that an average player who is in shape and not worn down will be much better at 32 than at 22. Better understanding, sees the larger field, better decisions.

I think the only other guy over 30 with fewer than 40 NFL starts to be named starting QB in camp was Roger Staubach.

Taken a team that had just gone 6-10 to the SB? Their best receiver was, at best, a decent #2 slot receiver. Next 3 best were Higgins, Hodge and a 6th round rookie. Never mind learning yet another system during the height of Covid with no real camp or preseason.

FYI, Chiefs at home kind of good.

The Browns. Let that sink in a minute, Skippy.

You love taking shots at the Browns.

Odd you choose to ignore your own teams failures.

Did you know they haven't won a playoff game since 2002?

And since that 2002 season your team has only gone to the playoffs 3 times ('15 & '21).

That's only one more playoff appearance than the Browns since '02.

I know how bad my team has been and have always acknowledged it. You on the other hand ignore your teams failures.

AND, we should give a shout out to the Mariners who just broke the longest playoff drought in all of US sports lol.

I didn't realize it had been that many years between playoff trips. Congrats!

Yah everyone keeps talking about how the Browns are so bad, yet folks fail to forget the Mariners haven't been to the playoffs since their 116 win year in 2001!

I don't follow MLB as close as I do NFL or NBA. And not many Cleveland games are televised out here. Seen maybe 20 all year. And most of those were on MLB extra innings free preview throughout the season.

Looks like the guy I expected when drafted. I doubted his "moxie " at the NFL level.

Shout out to the Cleveland fan, Across the Field
He must be sick
