that's cool, most of us came from ESPN back in the days of them deleting every other post for "spam"

a post will rarely get deleted here, and cussing is allowed..

ESPN's new format is just.. sad.

Sad for them... good for the hoop...

I bet Ghost is excited....

I worry about the Penn. St. game.

1. 107,000+ fans
2. Possible night game
3. White out game
4. 1,088 miles trip from Lincoln. 12 to 16 hour travel day.
5. Can't forget about the weather.

the Michigan game shouldn't be a problem for you guys

you guys do great against defenses that like to make other offenses look good.

and Michigan's spread players in a pro style offense stand no chance against the Husker D.

First off, welcome to the greatest board on the entire interweb......

I'm worried about both of those games. Michigan's gonna be a different team under Brady Hoke and I think some people forget that. There is no way that the athletes are to blame for their failures over the past few years.......they have a ton of talent up there in Ann Arbor.

Penn State is just one of those teams that you can never chalk up a win against. Though we will paint that white-out just a little bit red, it will still be an intimidating place to play. They might just have some talent up there too..............and they also have this one coach who has been around the block once, maybe even two times.

Precisely what I'm thinking. However, the rule of thumb is don't underestimate fat coaches and their teams.

As someone stated before, our offense does well against not so great defenses. Michigan was the 110/120 on defense last year (total D). they should improve by bringing in their new coach, but i just can't see them improving THAT much. i also think that our defense should be able to match up pretty favorably with their offense, especially if they try to run D-Rob in a traditional pro-style offense.

I don't know quite enough about Penn State to make a reasonable prediction, but from the sound of things they are having QB troubles. I see both of these games as being tough, but nothing we can't handle.

I don't worry about good old fashioned competition from quality opponents. In those games they could turn and go either way in an instant. I would be proud to say we played a hell of a game but just came up short. That's more than I can say about the beats we have endured under Watson.
I worry more about the offense pulling their heads out of their asses so we don't lose to teams only for the fact we can't even get close enough for a fucking field goal

Yeah

Hoke's a great coach

but it's going to take him a few years to get his players in there

when you get a bad coach, his players tend to not work out well either.

Of those two game I do not really worry to much about either team. But of the two I would worry more about Penn. St.

Mich. has a new coach so right now he has to prove he can perform better than the last coach and Penn. St has to get the QB position figured out from what I understand. And they were down last year. And the older Joe Pa has gotten Penn. St has been more up and down from year to year as compared to fairly steady Good team when he was younger. But Penn St also has shown they know how to get the program back to the top also.
The big thing is how are the kids going to handle the new stadiums and the way B10 fans are as compared to B12. While I think we win both of these games I also know that you have to go into the game and not let the atmosphere bother you, but feed off of it and treat every team like they were playing OU back in the day. I know what I think will happen but we still have to play them and as Bo likes to say Paper does not matter the only thing that does is the W. We cannot go in and be rattled by the new stadiums we will be in on all of our away games and hopefully the teams builds on last year where they seemed to play better on road games (Bo even took the kids on a longer road route to the Mizzou game according to Helu, otherwise they did everything like normal. lol). And with us playing teams we are not use to playing every week this year maybe they will always feel they are on the road, AND WIN EM ALL.

Why do you not underest. fat coaches and their teams. The team knows they have to pull the coaches car around with him in it all week if they lose. lol

Thank God those of you who are scared are not playing for the Huskers this year. Every BIG game has a aura of the unknown since we haven't play those teams every year in the past. Nebraska should have the speed advantage against all teams except maybe Washington and Ohio State. We'll see how Nebraska's new 3-4 defense looks, and how the offense develops. The schedule is somewhat brutal (understatement). Don't fear the unknown!

Listen, I am the guy who predicted we will win every game.........every time Saturday rolls around I believe we are going to win. To say I am worried about a game doesn't mean I think we're going to lose it, it just means I think we better not take it lightly.

We are at no point right now to go around beating our chests. We've just played a decade worth of games and the best we could do was have a 3 loss season. Nebraska needs to put together a great season before we can go around saying we aren't worried about games anymore........kinda like back in 94-95.

You can't take any game lightly. The sdsu game last year and the IOWA state games have proved that

I just think back to the Tommie and Lawrence days...........and that defense we had..........you just knew we weren't gonna ever lose with those guys. We played an undefeated team in the Fiesta Bowl and when we sat down in front of the TV to watch it you just knew we were gonna blow them out..........and we did.

I'd say 97 was pretty close to those years as well..........but after Frost left I actually did start worrying about games. Really it was after TO left....

1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers crushed all comers en route to title - The Best Team I Ever Covered - SI.com

there is a quote in this article about the '95 team that pretty much sums it up...

"And for the record, they knew just how good they were, too. In mid-December I went to Lincoln to conduct interviews with Nebraska players in advance of the title game, which would be written on a tight deadline. I remember sitting in a film room of the Nebraska football complex talking with two linemen, who spoke then on the condition of anonymity and will remain anonymous. At one point I remember saying, "This game [against Florida] is going to be close, and you guys haven't played a close game all year.'' The linemen looked at each other. They had seen the film. They knew what was coming. One of them said, "It's not going to be close."

There is a difference between a player and a fan. If we were players we wouldn't be thinking this way.

Michigan has twice the speed we do. What do you think Rich Rod was recruiting for that offense he ran with? Slow players? Brady Hoke is no dummy. He will mold his offense around that speed and utilize it correctly. Do you remember the speed he had at Ball St when his team almost beat Nebraska a few years ago?

I hope your right, but I would give Nebraska the edge. Michigan is going to be great again (soon) and Michigan/Nebraska will be a great rivalry. Right now, Nebraska gave us Ndamukong Suh so it kinda hard to hate you guys.
