Lol I wonder if the Lowe trade lives in Rays infamy.
I think they will wait to see how those three prospects continue to develop. So far so good for their return. Same for the Rangers.

Listened to Tepid Lucas broadcast today They think Otto in a perfect world goes to the pen and pitches the 8th
Also there is a lot of demand for Zeke from other teams

No news here we need to sign Perez and another starter

I was explaining to my wife that the Rangers will be good next year, as long as they heavily address pitching, play a little better on offense, a lot better on defense and get some better coaching.

No, that is why I said "so far so good." Those three we traded to the Rays don't need anyone to hope they eventually put up a lot better results. Two of those guys are already ranked in their top 20 and the other one put up an .867 OPS. Gowdy, Gessner, and Howard are at the opposite end of the spectrum.

Another thing about the three we traded to the Rays is that 2 of them were 21 this year, and they out hit Lowe at that age by a wide margin in the same system. That is not to say they will always be that much better than him, but it does speak well for them now. Those guys who came over from Philly aren't out performing much of anyone, expect you and me.

So, I think it is very fair to not wait any longer for our Philly haul while waiting on the other.

From the Jamey Newberg article about which prospects made the biggest jumps this year.

Zavala, the Rangers’ second-round pick out of Oregon in 2021, had a miserable start to his first full season as a pro. He would have been a little old for the Low-A level and a little young for High A, but after a college career marked by exquisite plate discipline and overall hitting approach, the Rangers decided to challenge him this spring with a more aggressive assignment. Through 58 Hickory plate appearances, the outfielder managed four singles and a triple for a .116 batting average.

Then something clicked. Zavala went on a tear that basically lasted all season, hitting .303 after the slow start with a sizzling .439 on-base percentage and .497 slugging percentage over the next three months with the Crawdads and a season-ending month and a half with Double-A Frisco. In those 96 games came 16 home runs, more than he’d hit in his three years of college and his first pro season combined.

The Rangers believed Zavala was going to hit for power despite his amateur bat profile and that it wouldn’t take long to show up. They were right. “The power was going to come as a result of the swing adjustments he’s made with us, but also as a result of his approach,” says Carlos Cardoza, who managed Zavala at Low-A Down East in 2021 (after a post-draft physical revealed a benign spinal tumor and delayed his signing) and again at Hickory this year. Cardoza will also coach Zavala as part of the Rangers’ delegation to the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League. “He swings at good pitches, which usually leads to good outcomes.”

“I’ve seen one player with as much drive to be great and that’s Josh Jung,” adds hitting coordinator Cody Atkinson, who oversees the organization’s entire minor-league hitting program. “Aaron trains like his life depends on it. He’s a cage rat and he’s not just in there taking swings. He’s making his reps as challenging as they can be. All we’ve done is stay out of his way and try to learn him as best we can. The power came because he found himself.”

Zavala was a more productive hitter in High A than he’d been in Low A, and a more explosive one in Double A than at either lower level. Thirteen months into his pro career, the 22-year-old will head into 2023 as the system’s top corner outfield prospect.
