We trade our 5th for Cleveland's #12 (1), #43 (2), and #108 (4). We take....

(1) Peat, Scherff, or Flowers, BPA at OT
(2) Cameron Irving, G/C, FSU, Can play all positions minus LT
(2) Arik Armstead, DE, Oregon, Big, Tall, lanky guy
(3) Marcus Peters, CB, Washington, DB with Top 15 talent but some "attitude" problems, maybe push Amerson or Hall to FS or slot
(4) Anthony Harris, SS, UVA, Very underrated coming into the draft IMO
(4) Terry Williams, NT, ECU, Guy is enormous and was huge when he played vs VT ..very impressive.
(5) Anthony Chickillo, DE, Miami, Very high ceiling..
(6) Randall Telfer, TE, USC
(7) Devonte Fields, OLB, TCU, was a 1st team all Big 12 and Freshman of the year before getting in trouble and getting the boot. Major red flags but could be huge if he worked out. Think Vontaze Burfict.

Heavy emphasis on the OL and DL. If we draft enough of them someone has to work out right?? I think all of these linemen are really good players too. I've seen most of them play.

I thought about throwing Kirk C in as a trade for their 3rd, then we pick up Garrett Grayson. But that would be way to good to be true...

An alternative trade would be our #5 overall, third rounder, fourth rounder for both of their number one picks (#12 and #19). That, like your trade, works on the draft value chart. With those two picks, we could get DT Danny Shelton at #12 and an OT like Andrus Peat at #19. Some mocks foresee Peat dropping into the second round (along with other quality OTs), and we could pick him or another OT with our #38 overall. If so, a Landon Collins may be available then. If he's not, there's plenty of other good OLBs or DLs we could pick then.

However, there was a new twist in the Browns' continuing QB saga today. The Browns' new o-coor opined that he's not sure if the Browns' opening day QB is on their roster right now. New Browns OC doesn?t know if his starter is in the building | ProFootballTalk If that's really the case and they get desperate, we can probably demand more from them for a trade up.

Also, don't count out Philly moving up to our spot to get Mariota. Chip loves the kid and is sounding awfully desperate to land him. This will, of course, depend on a few things, not the least of which is Tennessee deciding to pass on Mariota and continue exploring their options with Mettenberger. Philly could trade up to #2 overall to preempt that, but they'd have to give up a king's ransom to do so. If Mariota survives Tennessee's spot, both Jacksonville and Oakland won't need to pick him up either. Barring either Jax or Oaktown pulling off a trade (which I don't foresee), it's us. And that's where the buck will stop with respect to Mariota. That's because, if we don't pick him, the Jets, at #6 overall, will probably do so.

As a result, if Philly decides to deal for our spot, we'll get their #1 and #2 this year, and I'd ask for their #1s in the next two years. If we gave that amount up by moving four spots from #6 to #2 in 2012, why can't we ask for at least the same amount of picks when Philly is moving from #20 all the way to #5?

Good mock draft, I believe this pick is your only stretch. If Peters has a good combine he'll probably go in the 1st. A hot temper isn't enough to question talent. CBs are always a "reach" pick for NFL teams

Agreed. Peters will be probably go no later than #20 when the Eagles pick him. If we grab the Browns #19 pick, it'll be interesting to see whether the Eagles would consider a trade.

The fact that RG3 has had less than stellar results recently & is considered shaky at this pt is IMO the very reason why you won't see teams making trades like this (don't get me wrong - I would love to see it). If a trade is to occur I believe that you have to lower your expectations a bit. There is no QB at this time (& perhaps in the next several years) who is considered a can't miss prospect & all of them come with some type of baggage or question marks.

I agree with you. That's a completely rational thought. Don't discount, however, irrational thinking when people like Chip Kelly go all fanboy for one of his former players. Or the Browns, who are completely at wit's end with Manziel, decide to do something impulsive. As Redskins fans, we've seen that happen all too often in the past.

Pretty impressive mock, the Grayson thing is indeed a stretch, but the call on Telfer is on the mark! I've watched him and he reminds me a lot of Doc Walker. If we got this guy we vastly improve our up front blocking and protection schemes. Good Call!!

BTW: I still think that a QB will be selected somewhere in this draft, looking at Hogan out of Stanford.

This trade down scenario is looking more realistic. Not only has Cleveland's new OC questioned if Manziel is the guy, but the Owner has come out and said that they must find their franchise QB. There is a very real possibility that when the 5th pick comes up, one of the top two QBs will still be on the board. I believe that there will be interest from Cleveland and one or two others for taking that QB, no matter if it's Winston or Mariota. We would be foolish not to take advantage of a trade in this scenario. We need young, athletic players on this team and we need a lot of them. We can pick atleast an extra two picks, including a pretty high second. We can go along way toward establishing a foundation of quality youth to build for the future. This trade may not pay dividends this upcoming season, but could fast track us to a stronger franchise starting in 2016.

I can't say I know a lot about any of these players and it is only one game but that kid Armstead from Oregon got blown up in the NC game.
