Probably another pathetic 2017 and then yet another rebuild with a Cano deal with a big contract eat on top of it. Fuck them. Same. It's early August and the team is 4.5 games out of a wildcard spot. With four of their next seven games coming against teams that are immediately ahead of them in the WC race and the other three coming against a team that is worse than they are, they have the opportunity to close the gap even further. In fact, after this last Boston game, 20 of their next 23 games come against teams that have worse records than they do right now. It gets tougher after that with two series each against Texas and Houston and one more series against Toronto, but if they do what they're supposed to do against the teams they have to play this month, they can at least go into September with momentum and a chance at the playoffs. I'm glad to see that not everyone is carrying the baggage of 14 playoff-free years with them into the last 7-8 weeks of this season. I'm ready for what could be a very exciting two months. Football can wait a bit.

I just wish the "fans" who continually proclaim to be done with the team actually do it so this place isn't littered with so much negativity for those of us interested in supporting the team and talking about baseball instead of just constant bitching.

Same, I'm done expecting anything from this team this year (been done with that for awhile) but there's still players on this team worth watching.

Well, I watched that whole game and had a melt-down after watching the end. I am a fan, and I'm passionate about my team and I posted what I did. I don't think you'll find that many negative posts about the teams I support. My last point to make is that this isn't one season we're taking about but the M's haven't sniffed the playoffs in nearly 15 seasons.... that's a lot of pent up frustrations.

That being said, it helped that I spent the next five days on vacation with limited access to WiFi or even cell coverage. I didn't watch one game during that time and actually didn't care either. I hope the M's can make a wild card appearance. I'll cheer them on regardless.
