It's pretty sad when their longest win streak is 4 games.
lol true ..

The facts are we are 4.5 out of the wildcard with 3 teams ahead of us. 50 games left (give or take). So if you look at it like 5 10-game chunks, we gotta go 7-3 if the others are going 6-4...or 6-4 to their 5-5, etc. The odds are not in our favor, but it's not like this is some big impossibility. It certainly wouldn't be the biggest deficit that's been overcome. The team just needs to play as well as it can and see how it turns out.
7 games out from Texas in the division. That's about on par with our situation in '95, though I think then it was 8 or 8.5 games in the middle of Aug.
3.5 back in the wildcard now with Detroit in town for a few games. Good opportunity.Wild card is definitely a possibility if they keep this going.... Division will be tough to catch, but not impossible...

I thought the phrase was "grow a pair."True .... This is an area where the M's have failed this season, it seem's like when they've played teams that are right in-front of them in the standings they've come up short.... Let's see something different this time... Show some growth ...

It's been an up and down season for sure, yet here we sit with this opportunity vs Detroit. The team has played well enough to still be in the race as we approach mid August. 2.5 back now.True .... That's all I ask for, and the other teams are trying to win too. There's a really good chance we won't make the playoffs, but at least we are playing meaningful baseball into the last month or 2 of the season. I can either piss and moan about things I cannot control, or I can enjoy the opportunity to watch my team go after it the best they can. Not that hard of a choice really, at least not for me.Yep... Let's hope they continue to battle...

Someone finally decided to take notes on how to rebuild. How long have we waited for them to take notice? While I'm still not willing to buy in on the Mariners doing anything this year, I do like that Dipoto has really changed up the roster and doesn't seem to be afraid to shake things up. Anyone who follows the Seahawks knows how many moves Pete Carroll and John Schneider made in their first year and we see where they are now. Obviously there's a lot of differences between how you manage rosters in the NFL compared to MLB, but hopefully Dipoto can duplicate that kind of success with the M's.
