If we are being honest about it, DeVonta Smith is going to establish himself as the best WR in the league within the next 3 years.

He's been pretty nonexistent in recent weeks. Granted, today they just ran the ball down the Lions' throats for four quarters.

Eagles hardly passed the ball today. 46 rush attempts to 16 pass attempts in a 44-6 blowout win.

Update on DeVonta's season:
*8 games, stats and ranks in the NFL
*33 catches- tied for 41st to 49th
*56 targets- tied for 28th to 31st
*421 yards- 37th
*12.8 ypc- tied for 49th to 50th
*1 TD- tied for 100th to 196th
*52.6 ypg- 55th
*106 yac- tied for 105th to 106th

Not bad numbers for a rookie, but also not up to expectations for this specific example.
One of the biggest issues seem to be reception percentage per target where he stands at 58.9% with his 33 recepts on 56 targets. His hands were supposed to be one of his biggest strengths. Of course the QB also bears responsibility on this stat.
The other big concerns continues to be seperation and contested catches. He hasn't consistently gotten the seperation necessary to get wide open receptions, and his lack of size and strength is obvious when he has struggled when fighting defenders for position.

On the Eagles themselves, Reagor and Watkins are rated #42 and 43 by PFF, while Smith comes in at #55.

Again, it appears he needs more size and strength to achieve his high potential. He needs to hit the weightroom and start forcing calories. If he can add 10 to 15 lbs of muscle during the offseason he can still be elite. Even the smaller successful WRs, like Hill, Waddle, Lockett are generally listed as 15 lbs heavier. Even the 5'8" Beasley has 5 lbs on him despite being 4 inches shorter. But this has all already been stated earlier.

He can still become elite but it is going to take some hard work. Even if he hits elite, I don't see a path to the very top of the league for him at this tìme.
