Meh, we all know it in hindsight now but honestly, I blame Shanahan for not at least calling a time-out when Smith came running out of it calling for the offense to hurry up. Sure sign he knew he got away with one, imo. San Fran's coaches and booth seriously fucked up and that not only takes the eventual 7 pts off the board but greatly swings the momentum early on. Obviously, the injury to Purdy ended any hope but getting behind early may have been a factor to some degree. After that, the game was just a boring shit show of mistakes.
P.S. Tip of the cap to Davonta for the savvy. The kid has veteran smarts, no doubt.
