What is going through this guy's mind? Does he think he'll get this money elsewhere? Even if you cut his salary in half he's probably overpaid.

That's the trump card to me. Can he get 4M in early June from another team not named Dallas.

I think Carr is an above average man coverage corner. As we have said before Kiffin ran a lot of zone coverage and that is not Carr's game. I still think we draft a pass rusher and hope Hardy pans out. I think Marinelli can set Carr up to be successful by being able to run more man coverage schemes if we have a pass rush.
