Does that enter into our compensation draft pick calculations for this year? or would it be next year? Also, the compensation calculation would be based on the contract he receives with his new team right? I don't know nearly enough about this, but if Jones leaves in FA and it ends up netting us a 3rd round compensation pick, that might be preferrable if we can draft a decent replacement on a rookie salary rather than fork out $15(ish) million.

On top of that, not many highly thought of ILB this draft and it would be one more hole that needs filling so don't see that as a plus. Course sometimes players gets a offer that would be stupid to match or beat.

I agree... If by chance we did lose him, I could see us netting a 2026 4th rounder in return...
