I think it would be interesting to see it moved to Monday...all of those SB party plans...wonder what the absentee rate would be for businesses if they had to move it to Monday afternoon/evening

but the NFL won't have their own plows on hand....they don't own any.

Of course not...but they can 'rent' them or lease them from locals or have them brought in from out of town. I don't think that's an absurd thought. I know Chicago has brought in plows from southern Illinois when large storms are expected. They bring in giant snow melters from around the mid-west too.

Yes..I posted that already before you cherry picked it. The real issue is that many fans who are around for the experience of a SB game will have no fun due to the weather. Even shit hole , roach infested hotels are charging over $1,000 a night and more...this is the biggest fuck up of the NFL since hiring Goodell.

yep, it's hard to justify to places like denver, kansas city, cincinnati, cleveland, philadelphia, pittsburgh, tennessee, carolina, and washington d.c. that have similar (or better) weather in february why new york got one and they have always been told they can't have one because of the weather.

:wtf2:

I think it's clearly a test case for holding it outdoors in more northern location. The reason they picked NYC should be obvious. They host nearly 50 million tourists yearly, even in the winter... you may have heard about the party they throw there every New Year. So aside from any catastrophically bad weather, they can easily handle the gig and there's always plenty to do there.

Yeah because the evidence clearly shows that people would rather spend a few days in Jacksonville or Dallas than NYC.. oh that's right it doesn't. Never mind.

If you can't enjoy a week in NYC then the Super Bowl, fuck you. Don't go. Most people will have an awesome time.

60,000 plus sitting in 20 degree weather. If cold city teams want a super bowl they need to build domed stadiums. They thing giving the fans a goody bag with two hand warmers is gonna make it worth spending thousands to see this game.

I really hope the fans have a good time. The game itself is really not the issue here..it is the experience and NYC is not where the game is at. People will need to travel a little bit for that. Let's hope that the roads are clear and the airports are on schedule for those paying all of that money for this event.

I'm actually GOING to the game so I've been actually doing research on prices (not just reading "reports"). There are hundreds of hotels in the area charging more like ~$300/night.

I'll let you know if I have "fun" or not. Since people are traveling from Denver (pretty chilly), Seattle (not 'as' chilly but still 40's and wet), or they already live in NY/NJ.....I'm sure they'll be just fine. Haha.

I'm not sure any hotels will have a room open by now but good luck and have a good time. It is currently 8 degs. here in CT and they have said it will remain cold here for a while. If one doesn't mind the cold it shouldn't be an issue. Many flock up here to NYC for New Years.

I live in Chicago now, so cold won't be an issue for me.

And here, there are literally almost 300 hotels available as of 2 minutes ago for less than $300.

I will have a good time regardless. Hopefully a GREAT time. Thanks man.

I personally would love to see a superbowl played in the snow.

If they can play championship games in horrible weather, they can play the superbowl in horrible weather.

Good. Not too far of a drive to the game. I have been to Met life many times. The last one was the 9ers vs the Jets last season...just a 2 hour drive from where I live...traffic permitting. Have fun! :suds:

Weather is football. It is a travesty that warm weather and dome teams have had such an advantage in getting the Super Bowl.

SEC!SEC!SEC!.... Wait.... Wrong forum...LOL

as of right now, the weather channel is predicting it will be 30 degrees during the game with light winds and possibly a snow shower.

Any weather forecast more than 5 days out is guesswork at best. Wednesday of next week will be the time to start following the weather more closely.
