60,000 plus sitting in 20 degree weather. If cold city teams want a super bowl they need to build domed stadiums. They thing giving the fans a goody bag with two hand warmers is gonna make it worth spending thousands to see this game.

If they have trouble selling tickets you'd have a point. But I suspect that anyone who has a problem with the cold and decides it's not worth the trouble, there will be few in line who will happily take their place. We'll see. I'm sure they'll be looking at what tickets are going for on secondary markets as compared to other years & other metrics to evaluate whether it's been a success or not. I doubt people griping about the cold on discussion boards will be one of the deciding factors though. .

The NFL doesn't make any money on the secondary market. All they have to worry about is selling out the tickets at FACE VALUE which will NEVER be a problem for the Super Bowl.

I have heard horror story's about some room's in NY from bedbugs to cockroach invasions from hell, make sure you do very good research.

I don't know where you're getting your info. I just spent a week in NYC over the holidays, when there were a hell of a lot more people there than are going to be there for the SB, and it cost me an average of $250 per night for a very nice hotel room a couple of blocks from Times Square. The stadium is < than 10 miles from downtown Manhattan and there are a wide variety of very efficient transportation options. For someone living in CT you seem to know surprisingly little about that area.

If you can't enjoy a week in NYC then the Super Bowl, fuck you. Don't go.

ok, i won't. and i won't go to Indy or Detroit or Minneapolis either if I am lucky enough to be able to attend one someday.

i will be there all week and want to be comfortable outdoors for all of the week-long activities. I will not pay to freeze my ballz off. I will wait for a Miami, Phoenix, San Diego or New Orleans game.

even with 10,000 people thinking like you, the superbowl will still sell out!

um, 99.99% of the population in this country could think like i do (over 313 million people) and the superbowl would still sell out, but ok, 10,000 is impressive too.

Well we're 5 days out... close enough to get a reasonable guesstimate as to what sort of weather they're going to have and they're calling for hi - 41, low 26 & partly cloudy. Sounds like pretty good football weather to me. So maybe the sky won't be falling after all.

People attend cold weather events all the time and they have a blast doing it. When did this notion come about that you can only have fun in sandals and a t-shirt?

* "Carnival* in Montreal is a massive week long winter party. No complaints about the cold there.

* Whistler BC is world renowned for its partying and big events all winter long. No complaints.

* Lambeau Field just hosted/sold out one of the coldest playoff games of all time and it was a success (unless you're a GB fan). The people still went and had a great time.

* The NHL puts on its "Winter Classic" every year outdoors. I think this year it was in a Michigan University. It was a sell out and it was cold as hell. People still had a blast.

* Many X-games events are held in winter and those crowds know how to party!

* And of course the biggest winter event of them all.....The Winter Olympics. You think anyone is complaining about the weather and cold in Socchi, Russia for that world wide event?

Put on a few extra layers and get yer pansy butts outside to party! Its Superbowl, it's football. Beer tastes just as good in the cold. Hot wings and dry ribs are just as good in the cold. Enjoying the festivities is just a state of mind. Plan for the weather and you will be just fine.

If you're bitching about the cold, then you shouldn't have bought a ticket to the game. Sit the hell home and quit your bitchin'!

Exactly. They knew when & where it was going to be held when the bought the ticket. What I really don't get is all of these people who aren't attending and probably never will attend one who're complaining.

Pretty much. NYC/NJ isn't Florida. Unless you're delusional you had to expect that a night game in the middle of winter would be under 40 degrees at least. You're an idiot if you bought tickets and expected it to be 65 degrees

I don't think the ones going are the ones bitching. In fact, I don't know who's bitching. I'm hearing a lot of bitching about the bitching though.

Yep, looks like the weather should be ok. Will be in the 30s with little chance of precipitation.
