With all the picks the Pats have, combined with all the FA signings they will likely try and package some picks together and get a better player. What position do they target and which player do you think/want them to go after. Poll allows two choices.

I'm going one on D and one on the O side of the ball.
I really want to see the Pats get a big back. Give me RB Derrick Henry.
I'm no fan of Logan Ryan. Would love to see a replacement so give me CB Eli Apple.

Belichick is always thinking 2 years ahead. Offensive line and secondary. Two must haves. Cannon and Fleming are not the future.

  • Deiondre' Hall, CB, Northern Iowa
    Height: 6-1. Weight: 199. Arm: 34.75. Hand: 9.5.
    40 Time: 4.68.
    Projected Round (2016): 3-4.

3/19/16: Like Harlan Miller, Hall had a very slow 40 time that hurts his draft stock. Hall has excellent size to be an NFL cornerback and flashed at the Senior Bowl. He is very physical and a gritty fighter. Hall also has excellent length to be a press-man corner. The senior really stood out for Northern Iowa as he had six interceptions in 2015. Sources say they really like Hall and have graded him out on the second day of the 2016 NFL Draft.

  • Shon Coleman*, OT, Auburn
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 307. Arm: 35.13.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.25.
    Projected Round (2016): 2-4.

3/5/16: Coleman was Auburn's starting left tackle the past two seasons and a quality run blocker for the Tigers. He should've returned to Auburn for 2016 in order to improve before going pro. Coleman didn't run while at the combine.

In speaking with sources, one team said they have Coleman as a late-second- or early third-round pick. They feel that Coleman can play tackle or guard in the NFL. However, they think he should not start immediately and needs a year of coaching to get better before he sees the field.

A few other teams said they had Coleman in the fourth round. They feel that he is limited as a player. Coleman has great size and while decent, is not quite a good athlete. He gets movement in the ground game, and his run blocking is much better than his pass protection. They don't feel he can play left tackle in the NFL and project him as a right tackle.

Coleman has good size and strength. He could use work on speed rushers for the next level. In 2011, Coleman underwent treatment for leukemia, and after beating cancer he returned to the field without any issues over the past two seasons.

I like both these choices. I've always said linemen are not sexy picks but must have's. Not sure NE would need to package any picks to get either of these guys? I was thinking more of an early 2nd round projection they would want to move up for?

I'm thinking long-armed not fat,
Freaky fast would outrun Brady's arm,
no RB is worth moving up for maybe a couple would take in 2nd,
Is a corner available that won't be a reach?
Who slips like Malcom Brown did last year? We waited and got a top 15 at #32.....

Check this guy out. Projected Round 3-4. This is the kind of guy that Belichick likes.
He reminds me of a guy who wore #24..............Remember Ty Law??

Depending how the draft unfolds Henry could be available early 2nd round is what I'm thinking?
Nope not interested in trying to move up into the 1st for a RB.
Beside isn't there some ruling attatched to deflategate that effects any 1st round pick the Pats could trade into?

For us to be in the 1st, We'd have to lose the higher rated 1st. If we trade for pick #17 we'd lose #17 and pick #29. The "best" trade we could accomplish, would be #30 (losing #29). High 2nd round would be as good for us as any 1st....

IF they move up, it's for a big time DT/CB/WR that has slipped. I don't think any top OT are going to slip that far down. OT is not very deep, so look for teams to grab them while they can, leaving the DT to slide. RB are not as good this yr, compared to what is coming out next yr (from what I read). NE has the picks to move up to an early 2nd rd pick if they want....

As of now CB and WR. FA is not over yet though. Will be looking to replace C. Jones as well.

I think Henry is a reach in 2nd round. Many would disagree but I think he is a project.....

I don't think Henry would fit well with the system the Patriots run. He needs to go to a team that is going to give him the ball 20-25 times a game. He does his best running as the game wears on and he also needs a good OL in front of him as he does take a couple of steps to really get going. So I think Dallas top of the 2nd would be a great landing spot for him if that would work out. I just think in NE's pass happy set up right now Henry is not the guy for you guys.

Kelvin Taylor, Florida — 5-10, 207 — Lacks top-end speed but has excellent leg drive and inside vision, and he never once fumbled in 510 touches at UF

C.J. Prosise, Notre Dame — 6-0, 220 — Big-bodied, raw runner (background as S, WR) with ideal size, good makeup to be late developer, very solid pro

These guys should be available late 2nd - early 3rd. I like both better than Henry.....

The more I think about it, the more I think RB and OT are pos you wont see NE going for. The OT is not very deep and you have Solder/Volly already. If they play good, you can extend them, no biggie. As many have stated, this team was 10-0 before the injuries to the OL, and we also won a SB the yr before with those guys. They are all set in the middle with Mason, Stork, Jackson. They also have some decent backups. Not sure why Cannon is still on this team, but maybe they think he is better than what is out there.

RB class is not as good as next yrs class, I hear next yr's class is loaded with talent at the RB spot. I think we see the RB used the we always have, rotation. I think Brown could be pretty effective for this team and if Lewis can stay healthy, he is your #1. Not ruling out them taking a RB, but they certainly won't reach for one.

DT/LB/CB/WR is what I see this team doing. Would not shock me at all to see them double dip at DT. Brown and Dom Eas are the only ones under contract next yr. Gotta rebuild that DL, and what better way then to draft them and have them learn for a yr. With OT not being loaded, they will go quick causing these DT to fall. We need LB depth and a potential starter if HT or Collins walk. Same goes with CB if Butler walks. I have no clue about WR, they always fuck that up.

Next year appears to be a better draft for RB's. This year You have "Elliot and everybody else"
What this means however, teams don't know who to pick! Everyone is high on Henry as #2 RB pick. I like a lot of RB's better than Henry. This is a better year for gambling on a RB pick and we have a lot of picks to do that. BB is going to try to package picks and trade around but if we get no takers, there will be some good receivers and running backs slip.
