A lot of defenders are hurt, which goes a long way toward showing why Bama was inconsistent on defense. Good chance a lot of those folks will be healed by the time New Years rolls around.

The Tide offense isn't great, but only a really good defense can slow them down. The barn has a really good defense this season.

That was my point. Fsu was handing them the ball in the red zone over and over and bama did nothing with it 3 times straight. Just the beginning signs that bamas offense was trash. They were world beaters against trash. Struggled against any team with a sign of a pulse.

That game was weird. It was 10-7, QB threw a pick, Bama kicked a fg , then FSU fumbled the kickoff return, then FSU about threw another pick after a play. They had 3 turnovers in like 5 plays lol

I agree. A win is a win and a loss is a loss. I was just saying there probably is some merit to the statement that Bama didn't want to be in the Sugar Bowl those years. They were thinking championship right up til their last game of the season before the bowls.

But, FWIW, I had the same thought about the Boise State-Oklahoma game too. Boise State playing their Super Bowl, Oklahoma probably wanted more than a Fiesta Bowl appearance.

Their defense will be back and they aren't Pit or Virginia.

It depends which Miami shows up. The one against ND and Tech or the one who showed up against Pitt.

And the conference championships go chalk, who do they face in a bowl game? And if other scenarios persist, do they play any one else?

The real question is whether they will show up? Alabama has a history of not trying once out of the Championship race.
