They'd be cleared to take Bama.

Orange Bowl's 12 year deal with the playoff group is...a minimum of 3 invites to SEC
teams and 3 invites to Big10 teams. Notre Dame cannot be invited more than 2 times.
Gotta remember that 4 times the OB is a semi-final site.

So far they've been a semi-final once. And have invited a Big10 team and an SEC team
to play. With Bama available, I think they'd opt for them. If it's Miami, I know they would
take Bama. They won't rematch UM with ND if ND is ranked high enough
