Why is this thread low brow?

Some guy trying to pat himself on the back, and act like he's smarter than Seattle's front office. If you take all the kudos he wants to stroke his ego with, the topic might hold some meaning.

That sounds more vain than low brow.

Nobody else is here jumping for joy.

A bunch of disappointed posters from what I can see. Difference between you and us is that we express our disappointment and our excitement for the team. You only express disappointment, which is stupid because there is a lot to be excited about.

Nah, i'm excited for the season to start. Just bummed that we keep taking these Viking players with all these risks.

100% on point. It sucks Harvin's gone for a while, but this was a 11 win team last year without him. How can anybody not be excited about this team.

Let's talk Winfield then. Another ex Viking.
Now there is no real positive or negative news about Winfield yet, but if he does well, I'm sure we won't hear much, but if anything bad about Winfield comes up, I'm sure you will be there AGAIN to say "Told Ya So"

Did I even mention Winfield? Who cares about Antonio Winfield? He's not a risk. He's a 100 years old and was only signed for insurance reasons. Any production out of him is purely gravy. Nobody is going to care either way about him. Harvin and Rice are different. Heck, even signing Jackson when we did was horrible. I know we needed somebody, but good lord. They new he was going to stink and he did. Just not sure why they keep taking Vikings. There's a reason the Vikings stink, maybe the FO should realize that..

Winfield was not signed for "insurance reasons".

Despite his age Winfield had some of the best play out of the slot in the NFL for the Vikings. He's up there in age and he is not a #1 CB anymore but he is still great against the run and one of the better slot CBs in the NFL.

Marcus Trufant's play out of the slot was, horrible to say the least. Antonio Winfield was signed to be a contributor on defense, not as depth or insurance like you seem to think.

Winfield can still play and with the Seahawks weakness at weakside linebacker I have to imagine the team will probably spend a lot more time in the nickel than they did last year.

The Seahawks averaged more than 32 points a game over the last 10 games of the season. Losing Harvin was a big loss, but our offense can still be VERY productive, even without him.

Exactly. Of course you haven't mentioned Winfield YET, you will if something negative about Winfield comes up.

Here is an example, "Headline.....Winfield sprains ankle, out for 8-10 weeks"
Negative Nancy....."See, I told you he was old and worthless, why do we keep signing these guys?"

Does that sound about right? :gaah:

Why do you keep bringing up Winfield? If he goes out, nobody really cares. He was signed because he was cheap, available, and better then Trufant (who isn't). He wasnt signed to be a game changer with a big contract like the often hurt Harvin and Rice. As excited as everybody was or is about the maybe's or could be's with those two guys, is the gamble worth it? Past history indicates that they are injury prone players. Seems like they are right on pace to continue that history.

Didn't Rice start and play every game last year? How is that continuing that history?

This racist bigot isn't worth your time Harold. He clearly did not read this thread where I pointed out Harvin does not have an injury history.

I am all for seeing other opinions and at least hearing and debating differing viewpoints, but this "person" has already proven themselves as useless to any real discussion. I am actually surprised he has not been tossed from here already.

I had to look it up, but good lord, he did play every game last year. Shocking. By continuing history, I was referring to the 9 games he played the year before and the 6 games played the year before that and so on. He's played two full seasons out of 6 and here he is again getting leg treatment before this one. Maybe he is beyond the injuries. All we can do is hope.

Why the name calling? I'm actually surprised this doesnt get somebody tossed around here. You might benefit from anger management or something dude. As for Percy Harvin, he's entering his 5th year and he's only played one full season. I would call that an injury plagued history.

If people get tossed for having a contrasting opinion around here, then this board probably wont last very long. Now name callers and people that attack others,,,,

He's had one year on the Seahawks which he missed a chunk of the year and one year were he played every game. So if he has another full season with the Seahawks, then I'd say the Seahawks made a very good pick up with Rice.

Next year he may be asked to redo his contract and if he doesn't he could be release. If that happens, watch how quick some other team will move to pick him up.

Those criticizing the Rice signing, just do not understand how hard it is to find solid WRs. Drafting a WR usually takes a couple of years for the player to develop and even then WRs are a crap shoot (see A.J. Jenkins as a example). Good solid WRs rarely him the free market and when they do, its for a lot of money. Signing Rice was a gamble and right now I'd say it looks like a good one.

Tzorn , You have a prior history with many of us that came from ESPN Seahawk board and that your last post on that board was as racist as you could make it. It was meant to be revolting and remembered. So while I understand that you claim to be turning over a new leaf, expecting posters to not remember or bring up your past history, just isn't realistic. Your going to have to deal with it.

From what I've seen so far, very few posters can modify their behavior that ESPN breed. We'll see how you do.

Dont play the victim. It's not name calling to call you a racist, it's the truth. You said incredibly racist comments. Maybe you shouldn't say them if you're going to get sensitive about it later. You're a troll through and through, you're not fooling anyone by showing up right when ESPN closed. You were trolling there the whole time.
