Nah.

The Jazz overachieved big time last year.

Look at their starting 5. They have good pieces for sure, but unless Mitchell is a legit star they are a lot like the playoff version of last year's Celtics.

That ain't going to play in the West. They might make the playoffs and annoy somebody once there, but they are not a contender.

Mitchell's advanced numbers (TS%, PER, WS/48) are lagging behind his numbers last season. He was wildly inefficient last season, so when he struggles, they struggle. If he heats up, then they could make a run.

Time to trade AD to the Celtics for pennies on the dollar... :hungry:

Sorry but there's no way you can top the Lakers offer of Zubac for AD straight up.

Yeah, they've disappointed thus far. Kudos to Davis for taking things well thus far but eventually ,you got to think, he'll want out.

Seriously, one game under .500 on Dec. 10???

They have a stout big man rotation between AD, Mirotic, and Randle, and Jrue Holiday is damn good in the backcourt.

There are plenty of reasons for AD to want to stay, but hovering around .500 is just about the last place a superstar would want to be in his prime. And with Mirotic and Randle due for pay raises (and Elfird Payton as well once he gets back), Davis' hands might unfortunately be tied on this one...
You was wrong as usual.:D

I thought the Pelicans would be a playoff team, but then again a lot of the teams I thought would be playoff teams wouldn't be right now. I think the team I was the most wrong about was the Spurs. I just thought they'd find a way(as usual) to put it together.

They still might. I'm not counting out Pop until they are officially eliminated.

At times last season they looked the part... with a motivated Rondo at the helm...

... but, yeah, they lack depth and quality throughout their roster... apart from AD, of course.
  • Holiday doesn't stand out as a #2 option
  • Mirotic doesn't stand out as a #3 option
  • etc and so forth right on down the line up

Then why don't you tell me who they should have gotten as their #2 and #3 options. Holiday has persevered through injuries and is a legit top 10 player at his deep position, while Mirotic has evolved leaps an bounds from his Chicago days. Not to mention they got Randle on the cheap...

You're starting a separate conversation here... none of this really challenges my points in the post you are quoting.

I wouldn't disagree that New Orleans hasn't been managed well over the long term and that this fact limits the options they have in recent years.

I still believe AD will be in Boston within a year.
