I think we should give up our 1st this year

As we all know we were punished for the first Kovy contract, and I think we should lose the pick this year without having a goalie locked up it COULD be a bad couple of years after Marty hangs them up.... this one will be in the 20's and won't hurt too bad.

this is a great question because it has to get answered in the next 3 years. my feelings on the goalie situation would be moose and marty come back. wedgewood is in albany next year and makes the jump the following year with moose as a possible backup.

while yes our pick is late this year it is suppose to be one of the deeper drafts in recent memory does that mean we could get just as good player in the 2nd round as late in the 1st? or are we going to miss a chance on a really really good player late in the first. its always a gamble anyway you look at it.

Take the chance now... if we make the finals then it's a no brainer for sure, don't we have a second from Dallas as well as our own?

Also have to wait and see if we make any deals, if we can stock up on any later round picks. Too early to tell yet what we should do. I can't say I've looked at the prospects so I can't say for sure when we should give it up.

Also resigning some guys may be higher priority than keepin this first.
