Hope not but you might be right Sty. Seems Bruce has drawn a line in the sand and doesn't plan on crossing it .... but you know the old saying. It ain't over till it is over.

I don't think our FO has any control over it at this point. KC is testing the FA waters. We can bid, and maybe have a slight edge over some, but I see no real way he is here in 2018.
I think that to a degree this depends on the success of the Redskins this season. If they do well, perhaps make the playoffs & show promise on both sides of the ball this could certainly work to the Skins advantage. However - if they are mediocre or worse then this could be a real problem.
If you are Bruce Allen, you cant really be hoping for the team to do well this season knowing that it will mean you are going to have to shell out big dollars to keep Cousins, or look foolish when he walks.
Also - if the Redskins do really poorly then Allen may be pushing his luck & could find be kicked to the curb. Yeah, yeah I realize that some folks believe that he has ultimate security since he is a key factor in getting a new stadium, but if things fail then many will point to this offseason where he booted SM & didn't give Cousins the LTD (which will especially be a problem if Cousins walks). This could be a nightmare for Snyder.
I don't think most Skins fans want to face the prospect of finding yet another QB for the future (in spite of the protests of a few folks here). That would be yet another PR nightmare for the Redskins. Let's hope that we don't have to worry about any of this and the Skins do fairly well.
Slight disagreement here. I think there is a good portion of the fan base that would gladly sacrifice the 2017 season if it meant being in a position to draft some one like Darnold who is considered the next great QB. Bruce Allen possibly getting fired would just be a bonus. Also think Dan would be OK with it if it meant he gets another piece of arm candy.
Disagree & don't take the opinions on this forum to represent those of the overall Redskins fan base. From the folks I talk to Cousins is their choice & they would like to keep him here long term & really don't want to go through yet another rebuild. Also - in all likelihood they are not getting Darnold unless they mortgage the farm & I almost certainly believe that most fans would be against this given recent history.
Oh well - again - let's just hope that the team does fairly well & it doesn't come down to this. Also - I don't think that retaining Cousins is a longshot & also think that Snyder/Allen have big enough egos and poor judgment to even tag him a 3rd time if needed. We will see.
Oh I dont think the majority of the fan base is that crazy. But I do think about 30-40% are either against Cousins long term, or on the fence and would love to see things work out to where we got an elite prospect at the position. And Im not just basing this off of fans on this forum.
You say he has never played on a great team but tout those same teams for three consecutive 11 win seasons and three playoff wins. Contradiction.
If Indy has never had a great offense or defense in Luck's tenure, then how did they have those three consecutive 11 win seasons? Wait, I know, worst division in football.
Oh, and 2014, Indy offense was three overall and six in scoring at 28 PPG.
I still believe Allen wanted to tank the '15 season and get Goff or Wentz, or some plan that didn't involve success with Cousins. Again if ownership was completely sold on him, he would have gotten the deal.
The interesting thing is Cousins already has won -- he has been and will be the only QB to beat Snyder.
He's like that kid in Tron
Just curious about your thoughts on this....Thanks!!......
