The crust was a flaky awesomeness that came out of nowhere since I followed the same recipe.
I also swapped out the lemon juice with tangerine juice since I didnt have any lemons

Sad thing is that it is gone now

But tomorrow is another day and I will be hungry again

I wouldnt have been able to make it with broken hands due to busting holes through the walls.

I can't for a couple weeks
We went through 2 chocolate pumpkin pies the apple pie and 3 loaves of bananna bread since wednesday.
Got to lose the gooble gooble weight this week

But knowing my fattitude I will break down by tuesday and make more.

I got about 25 quarts of bottled Golden Delicious apples, I put up over the years.



Sure makes making an apple pie easy.

No humidity in Cali

I really don't know other than whatever I did turned out to be delicious
flour 1 1/4 cup
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 stick of butter cut into cubes, put the cubes on a plate and put into freezer for about 15 minutes to get them real cold
1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt dissolved in cold ass water

sift the flour and baking powder together
add the cubes of butter mix until there are nuggets forming
add the water and mix until the dough forms, if it doesnt form right away add about another tablespoon of water
Once the dough is in a ball shrink wrap it and put in the fridge for a couple hours or over night
roll it out to desired size and enjoy

I also use the hook thing for the Kitchen aid mixer

Baked up some of the scrapings from the dough in a ramekin they were so good

Made another Apple Pie last night that was intended to be shared at a Church Group meeting. Right after I pulled the finished pie out of the oven, at 4:15, I checked the flyer for the meeting to double check the home address. While reading the flyer I noticed that the time was changed from 5:30 to 4. It would have taken a half hour to get over there, so I made the logical decision to be upset that I missed the meeting. Then something magical happened. I danced in front of my wife, imagine the truffle shuffle/that weird old dudes dance from 6 flags commercials/ tom cruise jumping on oprahs coach fit of enthusiasm all happening at the same time.
Wife and I played Call of Duty 4 while the pie cooled completely down, then I proceeded to eat 1/2 the pie.
It was glorious hallelujah.

Carved my wife up real nice with the SAW, she should have known better than to step out into the open like that.

LOL, if I was a master pie chef I'd be 300#. My wife's sister is though, she made a blueberry pie a couple years ago, it was so damn good you'd slap your momma. When she is taking requests that is top of my list. That apple pie sounds very much the same.

Good times man, good times.
