You're correct with that. I know capgeek had CALG space as second least in the league, and it was probably just over 100K. So...still waiting on that solution there.

On Capgeek with that cap space they are showing 30 players on the roster. There are enough 2-way deals to clear it up. Also someone can be waived.

really good trades for both sides.

rene Bourque is pretty much the exact player that they need. Speed, size, grit and a bit of hands.
It COULD jump start Cammy in CGY for a while.. certainly adds some skill to the top six.

looks like CGY may still need to lose some salary? so we'll see what else they need to do.

I remember really wanting to see the 2009 Maple Leafs acquire Mike Cammalleri. And now they have!

:)

Goalie may be the only position on the team that the Habs are OK with.

The reason for the trade is stupid and I don't like it for that reason. Having said that otherwise I do not mind it.

No matter, Gauthier needs to be unemployed. Or "promoted".

Yet again, just when I think someone is untradeable... Good hockey player, but that's a lot of fucking money. Calgary seems to throw around cash like they print the stuff.

some lulz

Breaking: Cammalleri would like to amend what he said yesterday. "THEY play like losers."

Gauthier: “Should we wait a day or two to finalize the deal?” Feaster: “Nah, I don’t want to have to start all over again with the new guy.”

I remember really wanting to see the 2009 Maple Leafs acquire Mike Cammalleri. And now they have!

Guess it's time to thank my parents for putting me in 9 years of french immersion. Hoping I can please the @CanadiensMTL fans someday.

All I know is Rene Bourque is going to play the Caps again. He's going to get what's coming...

next week, in fact.

Brouwer last wk after Rene Bourque's elbow on Nick Backstrom. "It's too bad we don't play him again this yr."

Will he have served his suspention by then?

yup. CGY has had 4 games since the WSH game.
even if tonight's doesn't count (traded before it? during it?), Habs have 2 more games before playing Wash next Weds.

and yes, you should rep me for doing the damned work for you.

Wow, Gauthier fail much?

Just a day after spouting off about his frustrations with the way the team was playing, Cammalleri was gone.

Was it a rash move by embattled Habs GM Pierre Gauthier?

Consider this: One NHL GM told ESPN.com Thursday night he wished he would have known Cammalleri was available because he had some interest in the player.

Deduce from that what you will.
(from Pierre LeBrun piece)

Don't be surprised if Burke meets with Schenn today. If deal doesn't go down soon, I expect Burke will tell Luke its not happening.

Brian Burke said he talked to Schenn and couldn't promise no trade. BUT, has not offered him anywhere and current rumours are untrue.
