you would think, that the owner of a team that usually gets screwed on these close calls would be all for instant replay. there has to be a business reason behind it.

The Bengals are getting more close calls now that they have been to the playoffs 4 years in a row. We are getting screwed a whole lot less and Mike probably feels that more calls go our way now than if replay was to decide it. Before, back in the late 80's, we couldn't buy a call from a ref. Now we are pretty lucky in my guestimation, or at least getting more calls because of our recent history and records.
