You are correct... almost. This is his 12th season. And he won his first Division title in his 7th season. The point is, he didn't do it in 5 years. Gotta win the division before you win the conference.

And Snyder didn't belong in the same breath as Osborne until he had 7 years or so to get his program up and running.

"Division Title?"

Bo's got a couple of those. So did Callahan..IN THE SHITTY BIG XII NORTH :L

You said "Conference Championships" anyway. Pinkel has no Conference Championships and was blown out in every one Missouri's played in.

Look at Tom Osborne, Gary Pinkle and Bill Snyder. It took them all at LEAST 6 seasons before a conference championship. Now (Except for that retard Pinkle) they are considered among the best to have ever walked the sidelines.

Put your frustrations aside, look at where we were when Bo came in and look at where we are now. we are better in EVERY phase of the game. Are we good in all of them? No, but we are light years ahead of where we were.

Sorry for rambling, but I want to make sure we are all looking at the big picture before the petition gets passed around.

Flame away.

LMFAO

Meh......Pelini came right in here and took the same guys Cosgrove was working with, and turned them into a Defense.

Pelini is right, he hasn't forgotten how to coach on Defense...........he just forgot that he needed to recruit capable players for this Defensive Line.....:dhd:

Suh made those defenses great. Suh type players are once in a generation.

Suh was double teamed which made Crick look good. He made secondary defenders better because of the pressure he put on backfields..

OU went thru a string of FAILED coaches until they found Stoops who won them a National Title, many conference titles, and have played for National titles numerous times.

BO is a failed pompous as bloviating fraud.

Give the Blackshirts back to the defense now Bo...

Gibbs, Schnellenburger, Blake

A string of 3 FAILED OU coaches. Each deserved to be FIRED for their failure and destruction of a proud tradition rich program.

I'm concerned about where we're at now that Osborne is retiring........honestly.....

If say Nebraska does have 2 terrible years in a row, and Eichorst decides to move on to a different head coach...........what kind of a coach would he go after?

I mean seriously.........this isn't Notre Dame.......this isn't USC........not Florida............this is Nebraska. I don't want some guy wearing a pretty suit with a big shiny name taking over my program just because he has a good track record. I want a guy who is going to love being our head coach here........someone who is going to be passionate about it.

This place is no stepping stone, and when you go hire an AD with zero ties to Nebraska, you end up with that risk.........hiring some dude who is looking to use Nebraska as a stepping stone.

I was talking to my cousin about the AD situation and we both agreed that it was almost too convenient time wise for it to not be pretty much in place deal.

Osborne retires and within a week, we have our new hire? I really think they had Eichorst pegged to take over AD. I'm going to assume they had him targeted as their guy for a reason, and I'm sure Tom had some huge input into it as well....at least that's what I'm hoping anyway.....

Yea Tom and Bo were both very upset. Tom didn't even show up to the press conference where they announced the hiring.

You know what really sucks? Even if we do make it to the title game, Urban Meyer will be all over ESPN answering questions about if he thinks the game is fraudulent this year because tOSU isn't playing in it.

This is something I did not come to without much thought. The above was part of my decision.

Perlman asked why Osborne was not at the announcement replied "I don't know. I can't answer for him." paused and then added "I think he is somewhat disappointed he did not have more input on this decision."

As for Pelini I really don't see that he has any weight to be a part of the decision. He has not earned that right.

Another part of my decision was when asked last night why this keeps happening Pelini's response was "I don't know. I wish I knew"

So where the Huskers are now.

Perlman has again hired an AD with no Nebraska ties

They have a coach who has no idea why they can't compete and this coach wins just enough that he will be the coach in to the foreseeable future.

This more than anything else I think opened my eyes. Pelini is defeated.

This program is nothing close to the Huskers I know. I withdrew any support for this program when it was clear Callahan was not only not rebuilding the program but was destroying it.

While Pelini's goals and desires to return Nebraska to prominence are honorable and I would love for him to do this and be HC here for the next 30 years it's not going to happen and the more complete meltdowns we have the ore the program degrades.

A few years ago commentators, analysts, sportswriters and other coaches all were saying that Nebraska needs to give him time. He is an excellent coach and he will bring the program back to national prominence they said.

You don't hear that any more. You didn't here that last year either. Why? Because it is clear to everyone outside the faithful fan base that he is not going to be able to do that and that in reality the program is getting mired deeper in to mediocrity.

I may not have any balls, I may be giving up but I see us just as I did with Callahan.

This is not a Husker program and I am not going to support the imposter that is currently being fielded. It is embarrassing.
