He's a great coach who took over a team with far more talented depth than any other team in the conference... he is far from your standard "first year coach".

It was his first year with the Ohio St program. His first season as head coach of the Ohio St Buckeyes. The first season of the Ohio St Buckeye players executing Urban Meyer's system. Urban Meyers first season as head coach of Ohio St.
He only had one spring and one fall practices to implement his system.
I would hope that a knowledgeable Nebraska fan would be able to understand what I mean by first year coach without me having to spell it out.

Many excuses were made for Bo his first few years in that he needed to install his system. It's said about any new coach anytime/anywhere. Some are still making the same excuses for Bo.

Here is how good Ohio St was in Urban Meyer's first year as head coach (yeah I said it again).

Central Florida (31-16)
California (35-28)
UAB (29-15)
Michigan St (17-16)
Nebraska (63-38)
Indiana (52-49)
Purdue (29-22 OT)

So first year Urban Meyer took a (6-7) previous year team with 30 days of spring ball and 30 days of fall ball and out prepared, out coached, out conditioned, out adjusted, and shoved 63 points up 5th year defensive guru Bo's ass.

Honestly, I don't even think you can gain any sort of an analysis off of that game against Ohio State.

Like I said before, they out-gained us on Offense by a couple of yards, but every unit on their team scored a TD in the game.

There was some coaching that played into it, but it's not like we came into the game unprepared. We were, after all, winning the football game 17-7 in the 2nd quarter even after we opened the game up with Taylor throwing one of his infamous pick 6's.

Then Urban basically said, "alright, let's see if you can stop Braxton Miller."

We couldn't stop him because we were too fat, slow, nonathletic and lazy up front on Defense.

Then the Offense felt the need to make up for the ineptness of the Defense, and that's when we turned the ball over 4 times compared to Ohio State's 1.

Game. Blouses.

Bo is on record numerous times saying 'yards don't matter, it's the points on the scoreboard that matter'.
