I think retro that is how the Lakers turn it around. No Howard, amnesty Kobe, trade Pau for young talent or picks, play with what you have, aquire some young athletic talent, bite the bullet for a season, get decent draft choises and take the money off the books. Put a coach in place to steer all you will have back to a championship. It could happen.

Do it, trade him to who ever, division or not, for a good young player and picks, I don't care where he goes as long as we don't have to pay for all the drama.

Yea Edubb, I read that article too and it is doable and we get draft picks and a player or two but you are right. Mitch may balk at sending Howard to a division rival. But the thinking is flawed.

It is flawed because keeping Dwight here is only going to result in more of the same with GS improving and moving forward. So if Dwight re-signs, what does that get us in the long-run. Rebuilding. The difference is who you rebuild with. Dwight or a host of younger players.

With the right coach and experience, I firmly believe that Sacre can become a pretty darn good player at the 5 in his own right. What his potential is is anybody's guess. But how does anyone know unless the process begins sooner rather than later.

So yea, let a sign-and-trade happen with Dwight, Amnesty whomever (Kobe or Metta) stretch Nash, trade Pau for more draft picks and players, and lets get on with it as Blue so eloquently stated.

I thought there wasn't any way Howard doesn't resign here... due to the money thing.... now.... I wouldn't be surprised if he signed and i wouldn't be surprised if he didn't sign. Just don't have a clue

Bill Simmons on what is next for Dwight Howard - Grantland

^Pretty decent perspective piece on Howard by Bill Simmons. In short, Howard's not a franchise max guy, but someone will pay him that and history shows his stats are going to continue to trend downward.

I read the article and don't agree. There is a reason his stats declined the last two seasons: a back injury. He wasn't supposed to playing until mid season but came back early and played through the recovery. I take from the second half of the season that he'll be back to dominant Orlando Dwight, especially on defense. I think these next few seasons will be his prime years. He's a top 5 player when healthy.

Lakersrule. I have always stated that I'd like to have Howard re-sign with us because he'll be healed up and he may return to os Orlando form but since Short Buss does not get what the rest of the breathing world gets and is going to keep Don'tknowi until 2015, the combon is just not going to work. So, Howard will probably leave.

Even with Howard's horrific free throw shooting eh, Geneh?

Yup. Birdman didn't have a great game last night. They need for him to score 16 pts and block 9 shots to beat the Pacers like he did the first game - and even then they won by the short hairs of their ass. lol

What 9 shots did he block in G1? Where did the 6 extra blocks come from?
