Besides trading Landry for Howard, they'd also swap first round picks. And the Bears would get a third round pick also.

What would @BsGenius do?

I’d consider it if we picked Barkley, but I doubt he’s available at 11. Ultimately, I’d rather just pay someone else. Howard is proven and Howard is a beast.

Howard is locked up for 2 more years, at a fucking bargain basement contract.

This would be stupid af.

Ok, I am not a huge Howard guy, but this would be... something... Landry is moreorless a glorified running back. He has done nothing to justify anything but a mid-level contract and pick; like what Robert Quinn (another controversial big name player) got a few days ago. Maybe Landry does better in a different scheme, but the current evidence says this is an awful idea to buy-high on Landry.

Pointless deal that eats away at the cap and weakens the RB position for no real reason

Basically, this trade concept looks to me like:

A) Buy high on Landry
2a) Sell-High on Howard [for ... a not that great WR]
B) Pick another RB in a stacked RB draft; but is no guarantee. The Eagles used a pick on Pumphrey and then had to use another in the season to get Ajayi for instance in what ended up being a great RB class this past year.

This seems objectively kind of stupid and classic dog chasing its own tail from the Bears perspective. They also don't need to give up Howard even if they are a believer in Landry's skillset. This is an ignorant move that would really have me in :L mode more than I already am.

Miami meanwhile would have an excellent RB group with Drake and Howard while avoiding the unknown that is the draft. At the same time they probably are at least a year if not two from contending with the Pats being in the division and no obvious core to which they would contend for a WC now. In otherwords, by the time the Dolphins matter, they'd have to pay Howard or find someone else. The more I think about this, this is a lose-lose trade for both sides.

Wow. If this is real bravo Pace for recognizing what I've been saying since day one. Howard is SEVERELY overrated. Sell high on this guy, swap first round pick + their 3rd round pick? This is a no brainer move to sell high on Howard. Though i do agree, i'm not a Landry fan. Maybe get someone else but Landry? I'm in.

Ok in my excitement i read the rumor wrong. Trade down 3 spots in the first round for Landry and giving up Howard? I'm not on board at all on this move unless it's not Landry and we don't move down the draft

I pray we trade Howard high though. I'm praying really hard here.

Glad to hear it's bogus.
Love Howard.

The site cited that Nagy is not happy with Howard's pass catching abilities (seeing he dropped a sure GW TD vs the Falcons). But where else are we going to find a RB that averages better than 4 ypc, and that's vs teams that knew we were going to run.

I do like Landry but not more than Howard.
