Now ESPN is reporting that the Lakers have NOT been informed of Howard's decision. They also report that Oshick, the present Center in Houston does not want to be a back-up. A trade may ensue involving Josh Smith and the Lakers. Many S&T may be involved.
And he shouldn't be a backup. There should be like 10 teams in the league that would love to have him as a starter.

I read that Asik may be involved in a S&T w/Atlanta for Josh Smith....Nothing involving the Lakers

If the Lakers are smart maybe they should sign Bynum to a 2 yr deal with a team option for the 2nd year?

Yes, I remember. But I'm sure Frank was just kidding with his tweet.

Top 5 defensive player and rebounder and thats about it. What else does Howard do well?

Nothing to warrant a statue at Staples or any other arena for sure.

Isn't it crazy that the 3 main players in the huge 3 team trade last August are all gone from the teams they got traded to?

LOL even though I lost our bet Orlando pretty much won that trade at this point.

Remind me again what the Lakers gave up that would make them better today if the trade never happened!!

Bottom line, they took a shot on Dwight and it didn't work. Oh well, it happens!! So, they'll take their lumps next season and go into the following off-season with only Nash on the books!! Use that cap space to re-tool the roster and be just fine!!

They've known all along that they were looking at having a ton of money available in the summer of 2014. The idea behind getting Dwight and Nash was to try and get another ring or 2 before all of the current contracts expire and then re-build in the 2014 off-season with or without Dwight.

They also knew that Dwight staying was going to be iffy, but decided to take a chance anyway, hoping that a title or deep playoff run would convince him to stay!! Since that didn't happen and it appears he's gone, they'll focus on next summer!!

Trojan, those threads have started already somewhere. Its the only real free agent around that can turn a program around when they have no draft picks or young talent. I dont understand the Clark departure. I dont understand who is running LA. Do they make any decisions out there?

Mitch does know that most good Free Agents never actually get to free agency......right?

Why the fuck would he even consider the Lakers? He'd go back to Cleveland before that, at least they have some rising young talent. Lakers have nothing to speak of now.

The Lakers franchise think they can lure players based on their great history....Players in this generation doesn't give a rats ass about their history. Players care about winning and if another team presents a better opportunity, the top players won't go to LAL.

Howard made the better basketball decision.

According to Brousard, Lin could be in the trade for Josh Smith
