And this is the guy Sandy Alderson wanted last year rather than Cespidis :L

Gomez had a huge upside when he was traded so I would suspect several GM's whose team was in the hunt had their sights set on him

In the end it worked out well for both teams. The Brewers would have gotten Wheeler, who has had a few set backs and looks like may not pitch at all this year and Flores who's been underwhelming to say the least. Looks like the Brews did better with the 2nd trade and Cespidis helped get the Mutts to the W.S.

I agree, he used to be so talented, seems like he might have got lost in the shuffle in Houston.

Gomez did have a BABIP well above his career norms in 2013-14. Still pretty stunning how much he's fallen.

I had him in a keeper league and last offseason, I had to choose to drop him or Sal Perez. I dropped Gomez.

Winning.
what did the Brewers get for him exactly?

trying ti remember....

Meija was the guy the brewers wanted fro mthe tribe for lucroy and he just had the longest hit streak for a pro catcher in baseball history ,lol.

and slinky- the roto league i have been in for 9 years- i have neve won- until this year--- I have it wrapped up already- im DOMINATING...up 30 points in the 15 team 12 category league....a perfect team is 180...I had 157 at the end of play last night...next closest is 126.

I remember that. As I recall you had a thread about it and I agreed that keeping Perez was the better move. Some prat called us both idiots for that. I should go find that thread to gloat.

Rangers manager Jeff Banister said Sunday that Carlos Gomez will be the team's everyday left field when he's called up on Thursday.

The Rangers decided to take a shot on Gomez with Shin-Soo Choo (forearm) out for the season, and evidently the plan is to stick him in the lineup regularly. Gomez is currently at Triple-A Round Rock, where he'll get in a handful of at-bats before joining the big club. The veteran outfield has batted only .210/.272/.322 over 323 plate appearances this season, making him hard to trust in fantasy leagues even though he's got an everyday job again.:suds:

They must've felt like a change of scenery would do him some good. We'll see. It doesn't cost them anything.
