He's sinking that ship fast. I say he is gone after next season when the Knicks fail to win 25 games.

2 years max. He'll get bored and quit regardless of the team's success or failures

So OD I thought you said the Knicks got a steal at 4. I'm guessing you were being sarcastic?

He's got nowhere to go but up really.. I don't know anything about this 1st rounder from Latvia.

And Carmelo seems more of a cancer than a leader. Maybe Phil is trying to build something and run Melo off?

It seems Carmelo is upset because he feels he was promised something different than what appears to be happening. Apparently, he has acknowledged his own role by deciding to stay where he can get the most money, but the Knicks apparently also said they'd do what they needed to win soon.

Porzingis seems to have the talent, but most think that it's going to take 2-4 years for him to develop. That'll put 'Melo at 33-35 years old by the time the kid is ready to contribute.

One positive I heard about Porzingis came from his work out with the Lakers.

Apparently, when the Lakers worked him out, they were concerned about his competitiveness, so they decided to beat him up a little. They brought in some bigger guys and basically told them to be physical and beat him up some. They said that he responded well and didn't back down or lose his cool.

Phil is quickly losing heart. He thinks the game's integrity has been compromised with the younger players and he simply appeared very discouraged on draft night. May be he is missing his main squeeze in LA.

How long do you guys actually think it would take NY to become a good team? That team was a mess before Jackson got there. I think he is making the right moves though. Porting is a nice piece for the future. The problem with rebuilding in the NBA is you don't want to get to the playoffs to quickly or the rebuild comes to a halt. You want to get some nice young pieces first, which may require not being good for a few years.
