My dream match up is for us to face the Packers in the NFC Championship and beat them. Their is not another scenario that would make me happier. That would be the perfect way to put an exclamation point on the end of a comeback year for Alex and the 49ers.

I think this is how the NFC ranks to me

1- Packers -duh
2- Saints- Offense would tear are secondary up
3- Lions- Same reason. Stafford and CJ will have a field day.
4- Redskins- top 10 defense according to warren sapp on nfl network the have top 10 offense to? Idk about that though.
5- 49ers

I can't wait for are games against the redskins, giants, and Lions. Those 3 games will really show a lot about how good we really are.

Atlanta and Dallas? i know right now these teams aren't hitting on all cylinders, but the season has a ways to go.

Wow we do have the Redskins... been fixated on the Giants forgot about the Redskins(at Wash), definitely good teams to prepare for and playoff contenders at the moment too.... our schedule all of sudden has teams to reckon with...

Rank: IMO NFC only -
1. Packers - no sugar coating it
2. Lions - I would put the Lions over the Saints right now ATM
3. Saints - I feel they escaped with a win against CAR & HOU
4. 49ers - Trying to avoid the homer card, but knowing our off, def, sts...why not consideration?
5. Redskins - They got the mojo flowing and confidence in all areas...

Anyone think it's possible that we get a 1st round bye?

Packers will lock up one. Detroit will be a wild card.

Redskins or Giants will win NFC East but those teams will beat each other up some more so I doubt the winner will have a great record.

Saints, Falcons, Bucs and even the Panthers might beat each other up as well, reducing their record.

We should run our division, and then the only tough games on the sched are Detroit, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and maybe Washington and NY Giants.

Let's say we keep it up and lose 3 more games, at 12-4 we might be the 2nd seed. That would be awesome.

Yeah you could make a point to have both of them in front of us. No doubt that if they were both playing to there potential they would be better then us. And Atlanta looked good at first against the packers on Sunday. But it seems like both teams are shooting themselves in the foot this year. Especially the cowboys. But there schedule does get a lot easier right around now and I could see them winning there division. And if they do I would not want to play them come playoff time.

I'm going to wait for that first Lions game before I say the Packers have one of the spots locked up. Detroit beat them last year 7-3 and lost to them 26-28, I don't think GB is that far ahead of Detroit, considering both times Stafford didn't play. It may be the Lions who lock up that spot.

The other spot, I think is between the 49ers and the Saints. In the sense that they're the favorites. The Rams and Cardinals look like sweeps, and even though Seattle is playing better... the 49ers are playing better than week 1 too. So, going 6-0 in the division, when the team is already handling it's business outside the division with a 3-1 record.. sure puts the 49ers in a good spot for that 1st round bye.

Like you mentioned, Saints have a little stiffer competition in their own division, so Atlanta, Tampa, and Carolina could help the 49ers out by splitting the series with the Saints. But, I'd put my money on the Saints because that is a very good team that is pulling out wins late in the 4th quarter.

Anything is possible, but there's ALOT of season left. Call me superstitious, but I'd rather just wait and have this discussion in week 14.
