How dumb is it to say that Manning choked?

After all the hype Manning & the Broncos OFFENSE recieved they all CHOKED. What I'll never understand is why the Broncos didn't at least try to throw the ball down the field. Watching Manning pass the ball for 2 to 5 yards almost every completion was pathetic for an offense that was supposed to be SPECIAL.

Mostly there wasn't enough time to throw down field. Those routes take longer to develop and their line played just horribly. Avril was in the backfield or otherwise closing on Manning more often than not. That defense forced them to quick hitters and none of their receivers wanted anything to do with deeper crossing routes with Kam back there knocking people around.

Let me explain it to you. There's NFL horrible (Tim Tebow - who was in the NFL by the way) and then there's just plain horrible (me) at football. Everyone but you understands that "horrible" mean NFL-horrible.

You're playing word games. Playing like dog crap despite being capable of playing well, in the world of sports, is called choking. Especially when it's a high-pressure situation. Now you know.

I understand what you mean. But people take it way too far you know and try to paint situations that aren't bad to make them look like massive "choke jobs." And then you have people who call All-Pro players horrible. I think we had a bit of a misunderstanding here.

don't worry, both will. It may be years for Eli but he will get in

You sound like a Manning fan. Nothing wrong with that as both Eli and Peyton are great players.
What I could not understand was your undying belief that Russell Wilson was sub par as a QB.
He went 2-ZIP vs the Mannings winning by a total of 66 to 8 with none of the games at home.
If you watched this great game of football and wasn't a blind fan, instead of sub par, you might feel all worldly is a more apt description of Mr Russell Wilson.

I don't know that all the blame should be laid on Manning but QB's get all the credit when things go right and all the blame when they don't. He also made a few head scratching throws, one I remember as a pick and the only player that could make a play on the ball was a Seahawk.

Well I would certainly never call Peyton Manning a horrible QB. That's ridiculous. He's one of the all-time greats. But great QBs can still have horrible performances from time to time. Unfortunately for Manning's legacy, those times have been in some of the biggest games of his career.

Peyton Manning has simply not been a great post-season QB. He's been a good one but not great.
