Romo would have to get to a SB to choke one.

As for the Brady-led Pats in the AFCCG, they stunk it up in large part because Brady choked.

See how easy that is? Did I start a How Dumb Is It To Say Brady Choked thread?

LOL, you are ridiculous, first off Tony Romo (yes, my teams QB) is the biggest choker the game has ever seen :yahoo:. Second, the Pats lost to the Broncos… so if the Manning led Broncos are the the biggest chocker/s the game have seen, what does that make the Brady led Pats?

I thought the Jaguars were the biggest chokers this year....

Nah, I think people have to expect something out of you for you to choke… that being said I think the word choke is way over used in all pro sports and I was sort of joking around.

But the fact remains if you do a google image search for the word chokes… the most prevalent image you will see is Romo's. So whether or not I think its true or not, it is defiantly popular opinion.

As I pointed out earlier in this thread it overs simplifies the game when we just give QBs credit for wins and losses or leading a team somewhere. It totally disregards the play of everyone else on the team. Sure they have a larger influence on the game than most others but well constructed teams can win without elite QBs.

But I guess at least you are not being biased with your choking comments if you will say your own QB choked. Personally, I just think the Pats took way too many hits this season to go the distance and I am shocked they even made it as far as they did. That really is a testament to how well they are coached. Not resigning Welker and then signing Amendola for even more was a huge mistake though.

Didn't run away from the board did I? There's still Manning fans who can't bring themselves to show two days later. You're only here 'cause the Broncs choked from the very first snap.

Congrats. You are remarkably ebrave!

This thread is about how dumb it is to attribute the Broncos having gotten their asses kicked to the old "Manning choked" interpretation of events. Pretty simple isn't it, even for a simpleton?

ebrave! I love it.

I said what you've highlighted in response to the butt hurt accusation. Someone who's butt hurt doesn't come back right away...I'm almost worried about cdumler. I gotta say, I have gained respect for folks like Doc420 from your board. He's not butt hurt, he's fucking pissed and he's ebrave enough to come back and not make excuses like many denizens of this thread....certainly the O.P. And may I defend butt hurt? After the Pats lost that first SB, I was indeed BHed. Didn't bother with boards for a few days. This year, however, Ranger Dude's correct that we had a terrific season for one that come's up short. The miracles against the Saints and Browns and the epic comeback against the Broncs in tough conditions.

This Superbowl for the Broncs was a pretty similar performance to the AFCCG for us Pats fans and what's hilarious is that you can find the vast majority of pats fans freely admitting that Brady chumped. Hammer's thin skinned accusation against Pats Nation might be more appropriately attributed to the guys in orange. It is a rare Manning fan who will admit to his faults. I have no problem with facing the fact that Tom's not as sharp here in the last half of his career as he once was. Tom's never had a great long ball etc. To what degree Manning did "choke" in this game can certainly be debated and as I've said elsewhere, nobody in this 2013 NFL was gonna beat that Seattle team that night. Nobody...BUT, Manning was rattled from the start and throughout the game just never had that spark. It was night and day from the AFCCG. Yes, the Pats dropped a turd and there's little comparing the two challenges but just from the perspective of Manning's "cool" there was a big difference.

I ask you to close your eyes for a minute and imagine the reaction to the reverse of this game. Broncos 43, Seahawks 8. It doesn't take a Nostradamus to vividly imagine all the Brady put-down threads that would have popped up here. I don't think you can blame me for enjoying the silence.

They're both terrific Quarterbacks and if the game were played again, the Broncs could beat the Seahawks JUST like the Pats could beat the Broncs if we replayed the AFCCG. On the days they were played however, they were only going to go one way.

Not very. I mean he has such a long history of choking on the big game. I mean even in college when Tennessee was always supposed to win it all he always seemed to lose the big game. How many times did he get to the playoffs only to have Brady whup him? Only time he didn't fail was in the Superbowl when he was facing the no offense whatsoever Bears.

Only casual fans put everything on the QB's shoulders. There are very few instances where the QB actually completely loses the game or wins the game for a specific team.

I thought the opening kickoff return was a foolish way to begin, just kneel that fucker down fool, things went downhill fast after that.

If you want to talk about who choked that game, it was their coaching staff.

They said they didn't prepare well enough the week leading in to the game? :wtf:

And they weren't prepared for the crowd noise?

If I was a Bronco fan I'd be pissed off at the HC and his staff if that's really what they are saying now. How on earth can you not be prepared for the Super Bowl? How can you keep using the same signals so that an opponent can watch them on film and end up knowing them in a game?

I know Seattle traveled very very well for this game, but have they never played in crowd noise before? Saying they were not ready for it in the SB? I don't even know what that means. How can you not handle what was obviously FAR less than a typical road game noise level? :noidea:

Manning choked? Well he didn't have his best day for sure, but I'd say the majority of that loss was on a coaching staff that clearly wasn't ready and didn't have their team ready. If you aren't just another Manning hater it is obvious who to blame.

Interesting post. I definitely agree with your point that Manning didn't play particularly well and to blame the loss on him "choking" is incorrect. As far as the coaching staff's claim that they didn't have the team well prepared in geneneral, and for the crowd noise specifically, that just seems lame. How can experienced NFL players not be sufficiently motivated to play or prepared for noise in the SB? Not sure that those claims are merely attempts to explain the unexplainable, other than to just say we were dominated in every way because we are simply not as good a team as Seattle. That's tough to say for a Broncos fan, so I suspect it is also tough for a coach to say that.

He didn't play up to his usual standard, but a lot of that can be directly attributed to Seattle's suffocating D. It wouldn't have mattered who was under center for the Broncos. They would have been beaten badly regardless.

Totally agree with that. Whenever a team is dominated the way Denver was it is silly to attribute the loss to a single player having choked, yet I knew that is how some people would interpret the outcome.
