Guess the thought is that even though Bass could have started TEX would still need someone for long relief to back him up and Bass did such a good job filling in for Holland they didn't want to relegate someone else for an ad hoc long relief job. At the end of the day ... Ranaudo was going to get a turn in the mix no matter what.

Sure, if the Angels were willing to take on Choo's contract straight up for Hamilton's contract, financially that makes a lot of sense. For the Rangers.

I can't see it. I realize Moreno is being about as big a dick as he can be to Hamilton, but if given the choice between eating Hamilton's salary and eating Hamilton's salary + helping the Rangers save $60 million, even Moreno isn't that dumb.
