It will be good for the morale of the metroplex if we can pick up Hamels. But there of course is the potential backlash if one of the prospects moved becomes a star. Whether we make trade or not we are going to have to move some LHB's. Second thought, no reasonable person thought we would get anything out off Harry and Perez would not come back to form immediately. As the numbers prove, we have a very bad pitching club almost from top to bottom.

To become relevant even next year we have to injured pitchers regain form, RHB emerge, some of our minor leaguers to hit gold, find a bullpen. All this regardless of high end starter help. A lot of work to do especially battling regression

I think 90% of the rumors have come from the Phillies trying to say the Rangers were interested just to get more in return for him from another team. There might have been some wishful thinking on the part of the Phillies as well.

I'm intrigued. Sullivan is usually pretty solid. Wonder if this is a smoke screen for something else. If JD does trade for Hamels, he better have some other plans because this team is not competing next year with just the addition of Hamels. We need to dump Choo and acquire a right handed bat at minimum, as well as add a minimum of two solid bullpen pieces. We also need to fire Magadan. Probably need to add another starter too
