Yes we beat a really bad Washington team but despite what the scores and stats say this was a terrible offensive performance and the blame goes squarely on Matt Nagy and Mitchell Trubisky.
Matt Nagy - I don't understand what this guy is thinking. He just doesn't like to run the ball. The entire first qtr, we barely ran. And when we did run it was with Cohen not Montgomery. Montgomery was largely absent for 3 quarters and clearly he's the best option we have at RB. Montgomery should get 20 carries a game. 1st and goal at the 1, run?? No Nagy passes. Not to mention every single passing play was underneath. When you throw that many times underneath, defenses will move closer to the line making it really tough to run.
Mitchell Trubisky - Horrible performance again. Remains incredibly inaccurate and I believe this will never change. This is Trubisky, forever inaccurate. Anything more than a 15 yard pass, i laugh when the ball is in the air because i know it won't come close to the target. Trubisky simply cannot throw vertically. I would like to give credit to Nagy and think all the passes are underneath because Trubisky can't throw vertically but i doubt Nagy is that clued in.
I do not trust either Nagy or Trubisky.
We need a new QB, Trubisky is not it. Frankly it's not even close. I am envious of guys like Daniel Jones who comes in and show so much promise.
