thats the thing i'm worried about missing that go to game changer. i know everyone loves the "team" concept but still would like that 1 go to guy

I would rather have a deep team than a go to guy. I think go to guys are nice but it isn't like basketball where they completely change the game around. Having solid guys on the 3rd & 4th lines tends to be more beneficial than having superstars on your 1st & 2nd lines.

I wonder what the story was with Grabovski? The contract he got from the Leafs and then subsequent buyout after 1 year and then the fact he got no interest around the league only to sign a 1 year deal for less than he's worth. He must be a complete cancer in the locker room.

Lots of teams didnt like the way Grabo acted when he was cut by the Leafs..I think he called their GM or coach an asshole or something along those lines.

Solid move by the Caps though..Grabovski is better then Ribeiro and on a 1 year deal will be looking to cash in next offseason.

He called coach an idiot for not letting him to play enough minutes per game so he could produce more then he did. He played I believe avg. 7-8 min/gm and then in 1 year of 5 yr contract he was cut by team. Anyone would be pissed. And we can say that he is hardworking on the ice and have a great speed. Him and Ovy would be a bomb from Caps to any team.

I get that he had a bit of temper tantrum but there has to be something else going on that we're not aware of. Bought out after 1 year of a 5 year deal after a productive season? Then barely getting any nibbles in a weak free agent season until the end of August? Then he signs what's basically a "fuck it, let's give it a shot" contract? There are red flags all over this. That said I wouldn't have minded bringing him in.

It's kind of funny. I was thinking about this today, and am I the only one who thinks that since the last lockout we made the playoffs with worse teams on paper than this year's team?
