That's why I'm not interested. And that's why a few want to pass on Cousins. If we made the playoffs last year,
no one would overreact to this line of reasoning. We CAN'T sign Cousins, get a respectable front 7 and LG(as you mentioned) and then not be strapped for cash the next century.

Actually yes we can. With Litch retiring we have right around $65M in cap space

Let that sink in. $65M

So lets say we actually have to tag Cousins, still leaves $52M in cap space

Lets also say we go ape shit and sign JAckson, Garcon,BAker and 5 other FA's all to long term deals that average $10M a year....

Most of those deals will come in around $6.5-$8M against this years cap.

So if we went totally apeshit and spent like it was going out of style, we would need to come up with about $10M more than we have to account for draft picks. The bright side is, we have almost $90M in projected cap space next year.

The days of the big bad cap monster Romo type deal are dead dude. And most that are saying we CANT sign Cousins to that type of deal dislike him for other reasons and the contract is just a cop out for not admitting that they just want ABC at QB... Anyone But Cousins.

Good conversation between you two however, if we had 65mil and subtracted 24 for Cuz on the tag doesn't that change your numbers from leaving 52 mil to 41 mil instead?

We are NOT going to keep Hall at his current price with his injury history. Also banking on us either lowering LAvaou's price, or cutting him outright. Once those moves are made.. we are back around the $52M I expect.. assuming we tag Kirk. If we sign him long term, I think we have more like $55-57M depending on how its structured. But the odds of us carring Hall at $5m against the cap are slim and Calista Flockheart.

TAG cousins 41 mil. I'm just assuming around 2019 the cap could look BAD. "could"
I don't want to venture too far away from the OT with signing a big FA. Personally, I don't think Hightower fits here. NE players are not impressive to me, most i don't even recall being drafted high -- Hightower is probably the exception. They simply know their assignment, and execute it. They are well coached, motivated and buy in.
They stay that way because they win...IMO. Hightower may get frustrated quick here, with the schemes and relaxed atmosphere.

OK, I just based my response on what you originally posted.

I was thrown off as well -- I expect 2 restructures and 2 cuts so yeah i got to 52mil as well WITH Cousins tagged.
So you are saying we can go crazy this year, even go BPA and in 3 years when we start the season and have signed our draft picks still have about 8mill to carry over? NOT BAD.

1 Apologies -- I don't think the motivation will be here in Washington. Also, if I'm not mistaken N.E. got destroyed on the ground in the superbowl. Yes, Manusky is an upgrade. Can he get the best out of Hightower in one spot?

2 Yeah, I guess I should be at least willing to embrace him if he did want to come here.
I like a bunch of people from OJ Howard to Ramczyk to Cunningham -- so I'm not in that group of Absolutes :D
i love ramcheck i love him not as much as wr josh reynolds i would love to have a line of big TW the sheirf and a ramcheck
