It's true.

The Big East was overrated. Villanova was overrated. Our bigs wilted against quicker, more athletic bigs.

I championed them all year long, and perhaps it was wishful thinking that this would be a special year for our guys.

Last night hurt. I was already looking forward to next weekend and that was obviously premature. At least I got to blur that a bit with copious amounts of liquor.

I'll be back to watch next week's games.

RIP Villanova 2015, they were an easy team to root for.

Umm....no. Villanova lost because they couldn't hit a shot. If your team shot as well as you normally do, instead of going 9-28 on open threes and missing a bunch of layups, you win by 15.

Virginia was outclassed stylistically. You weren't. You just went ice cold. It can happen to any team that relies on the outside shot. You are still a better team than NC State, and anyone who has seen you guys drill open threes all year knows it.

Don't beat yourself up. Cold shooting happens to everybody at some point. Nova was still a quality team. One tournament loss doesn't change that. (Nor does it make the Big East retroactively overrated)

I think the Big East and Villanova have been overrated all year, but you are right in that Novas loss was self inflicted. Villanova was still a good team, they just weren't worthy of a #1 seed in my opinion. Their loss yesterday did not confirm my beliefs about being overrated because they were not outplayed by NC State, they just did not show up to play.

Nova just had a bad shooting game and it was compounded by the missed layups.

Usually they can overcome bad shooting games because they are so efficient scoring from 2. But last night they just biffed lay up after layup.

Shit happens in tourney.

Sorry; we see this every year; a team that wins a bunch of games over suspect competition and somehow gets ranked in the top 5; gets a great seed and loses to average team from a very strong conference.

I don't need to list anything. They were top 25 teams as selected by the committee. They won 9 times against teams deemed top 25 worthy by the committee. That's why they were a 1 seed and rightfully so.
