I think NFL is the most hopeful. Seems like any team can quickly rise up and be a contender. Basketball and baseball feels more like you need to get in line and wait for your time.

And for a city like ours that cannot attract an elite FA you need timing/luck. Need to get high pick when a star is there for ya.

Wizards have won the draft lottery twice in the last 20 years.

They landed John Wall, who was a star player, but not a landmark franchise player, and Kwame Brown who was one of the biggest top big busts ever.

You have get lucky twice. Winning at the wrong time does little good.

we have definitely been lucky here with Lebron and Kyrie (true Kyrie as the #1 not enough). Guess Wiggins, as well, since many thought he would be a star....and who knows if we get Love if we didn't have him to dangle.

But Kyrie was enough to get Lebron to come back. No Kyrie, or player of that caliber, Lebron probably stays in Miami (unless he decided to go to the Lakers early lol).

not 3 in a row. 3 of 4. Still odds of that wasn't great....especially since, I believe, we had 8th best chance with the pick that got Kyrie and Wiggins.

If a team was in the lottery or got odds for a top 5-10 pick for 12 years straight years...4 #1's would be impressive. So 4 out of 12 years is impressive but it's mindblowing considering the Cavs weren't in the lottery for most of those years.
