Personally, I respect Zetterberg more than Lundqvist for speaking up, at the same time, I understand why Lundqvist wouldn't feel comfortable talking about it, so I won't hold it against Lundqvist either.

To be resorted, there weren't any sports with a major push to fight against child labor, using their biggest stars, at the time...

I remember once Keith Primeau showed up in a pre-game skate with "rov" on the end of his name on his jersey so it said "Primeaurov". He said he wasn't happy with his ice time and he thought if the coaches thought he was Russian he'd play more.

One of the few times I liked him.

He was traded shortly thereafter.

Wow, he must've pissed some people ov

Yes and no. Primeaudonna was an overrated piece of garbage who never did shit when it mattered most and thought he deserved more playing time than Yzerman and Fedorov. Waste of a #5 draft pick.

One of the happiest days in my life was the day that buffoon was traded away. I always knew he would retire without ever winning a cup.

Higgy, please stop the subtlety. I can't determine how you really felt about Keith. Try being more direct in the future.

Now Datsyuk is getting heat for his comments (or lack thereof) regarding Russia's anti-gay laws.

/Also Ryan Lambert is a dbag.

He still has family there. I can understand him shutting up.

I hope we're not at a point where pro athletes are villainized for not talking about social issues.

Henrik Lundqvist is a strong advocate of the NHL's You Can Play Project, yet he chose not to comment on Russia's anti-gay laws. Henrik Zetterberg on the other hand went on record to say the laws are awful. While I agree with Zetterberg that the laws are awful, I can't say I blame Lundqvist for saying politics should stay out of the Olympics. The Olympic spirit is really about putting our differences aside for the sake of sportsmanship. Anyways, I disagree with the Russian laws, but it is Russia after all.

Surprised Lundquist wasn't more pro gay rights. I always thought that ohohoh all mens choir song the rag$ play after a goal sounded kinda Christopher Street to me if ya know what I mean....not that there's anything wrong with that

I don't think we're at that point. It's just that other players in the NHL have spoken up, so why doesn't Lundqvist? Sort of compromises his support of gay rights here in America/Canada if he doesn't have the guts to speak up when others have. If Lundqvist didn't act like he was all for gay rights then this wouldn't be an issue, but he goes out of his way to preach tolerance when it gets him PR. Really shows he lacks courage on the issue.
